The curtain maybe coming down on the super 2010 Wulfsport British Masters series at Pontrilas this weekend, but what a red-hot all-action thriller the finale promises to be.Although Scott Elderfield,Aaron Lowe and Marc Roe have already claimed the respective Wulfsport Pro MX2,Michelin MX1 and Michelin MX2 crowns, there is still another seven titles to be decided.

Big battle number one comes in the Proppa.com MXY2 class, promising one of the closest Wulfsport Masters finishes as just an incredibly narrow 12 points separate the top two of Suzuki Youth GB riders Dan Thornhill and James Dunn. Then,in 3rd spot and only a further 33 points in arrears is Ryan Williams whilst mathematically early series leader Alexander Hussey can also snatch the crown.Looking for a spoiler, then how about 5th placed Luke Norris who despite missing the opening two rounds as still amassed 714 points. In the race for the lease of a brand new 2011 250F, the Proppa MXY2 lads will compete in five motos at Pontrilas,to thus also incorporate their race postponed at the previous Hawkstone round. So who will be crowned king?,will it be Suzuki GB rider Thornhill who has led the series since round four, his exciting Suzuki GB teamate Dunn, brilliantly campaigning the 125cc two-stroke,KTM mounted Williams or round one winner Hussey.Whatever the outcome,it’s sure to be an absolute thriller!!.

Big battle number two comes in the GSP Race Products Amateur MX2 class with another contest which looks set to go right down to the wire.Just 11 points separates the top two lads Daniel Brough and Darren Carter. After having led all the way,Carter was eventually overhauled at Hawkstone Park by Brough, even missing out on a podium place for the first time in the 2010 Masters Championship.Currently in superb form,Aled Bellis holds 3rd in the Championship some further 107 points in arrears of Carter. So who can handle the pressure of Pontrilas and take that crown, will it be Brough,Carter, Bellis or even Ricky Lethaby, currently in 4th place,it’s sure to be a Wulfsport Masters classic.

Whilst the GSP Race Products Amateur MX2 class will almost certainly be going right down to the final chequered flag of the season,Amateur MX1 leader Matthew Williamson requires just 3 points to claim his title.Currently holding 2nd spot is George Walton whilst Michael Smith is in 3rd despite missing round five at Landrake.Like Williamson, the current leader of the Kawasaki Masters class,Zac Stealey, should have his title in the bag by the completion of moto one at Pontrilas. After seeing his season long rival Tom Watts crash out of the Kawasaki Masters during round six at Hawkstone Park,Zac now requires just 9 points to get his hands on that lovely 2011 Kawasaki 250F on offer.Although Stealey is just about home and dry,who will claim the 2nd and 3rd spots in this class?.Edward Briscoe moved up into the runners-up position following Hawkstone, leaping above Watts. However such as been Watts incredible consistency this season that even should he not compete at Pontrilas he could still gain some consolation by earning the bronze medal.

Current 4th placed rider Daniel Hill has been out of action following a crash in the AMCA Championship whilst 5th placed Ash Newton would require maximum Pontrilas points to overhaul Watts.

Having led the Moto-Pro Suspension BW85cc class since round two,Sam Winterburn will certainly be hoping to wrap up his title at Pontrilas. However throughout the series,Adam Sterry,Murray Clunie and Thomas Davies have proved to be very determined challengers. At present Sam holds a 73 point advantage ahead of Adam,a rider who despite missing round two at Dean Moor is still in serious title contention. In Moto-Pro Suspension SW85cc,Casey Connelly has finished on the podium in five out of the six rounds completed and also leads the title race. However despite that great consistency, his advantage at the top is just 25 points with Charlie Hamlet in 2nd and Tyron Cleaver a further 13 points in arrears in 3rd spot. With the top three in great form,Connelly knows that he will almost certainly require another podium placing at Pontrilas to be crowned champion for 2010!!.

With both Michelin Masters title already sorted, the race is on to decide who will pick up those remaining medal positions. In MX1 the 2nd and 3rd places will be disputed between Matt Mclean,Christopher Rose,Chris Peaty and Ian Taylor with early series leader Shaun Scrivens looking to miss out after breaking his shoulder during round five at Landrake. In MX2,the Smith brothers Scott and Sam,John Hall,Adam Savage,Tom Drabble and James Bodley all have a mathematical chance of a medal position. However on current form, the Smith boys surely look favourite with Scott Smith, the leader after three rounds, currently 61 points ahead of his brother Sam.

In Wulfsport Pro MX1,Scott Elderfield looks set to record a glorious 2010 Masters double as he currently leads the title race with a 69 point advantage.Early pace-setter in this class was Gordon Crockard although the Irishman has not competed during the last two rounds at Landrake and Hawkstone Park.As a result ‘Crockstar’ has dropped down to 4th in the MX1 standings behind Ben LaMay and Jamie Lewis. With LaMay now also a doubtful starter at Pontrilas and the only rider able to mathematically overhaul Elderfield, the young PAR Honda rider could claim the crown without even turning a wheel!!.

As mentioned with Scott having already wrapped up the Wulfsport Pro MX2 title, the battle is now on for the silver and bronze medal positions. At present Matthew Moffat holds 2nd just 11 points ahead of Martin Barr although these lads are still under severe pressure from Kristian Whatley,Brad Anderson and Luke Mellows.Maintaining the AMCA honour in this class,Lee Dunham the current AMCA MX2 Champion holds 8th with Carl Benjamin,Jack Taylor and Shane Holmes holding 13th ,14th and 15th places respectively.

With additional prizes again being very kindly supplied by Charge Clothing and Muk-Junkie,this is sure to be a fitting finale to a great motocross series. Why get yourself along to Howton Court,Pontrilas on the weekend of September 4th/5th September and have a look. The circuit will be signposted off the A465 Hereford to Abergavenny road.

In Pro MX1,Scott Elderfield had led proceedings before being overhauled at Whitby by Gordon Crockard.Although Crockard’s advantage is just a current ten points, his series lead as been built on very impressive consistency in what as proved to be an ultra-competitive,spectacular class.Already in Pro MX1,Crockard(2),Elderfield,Brad Anderson,Martin Barr and Ben LaMay have recorded moto wins.Expect the rivalry to continue at Foxhill with Jamie Lewis,James Noble, Wayne Garrett,Nathan Parker,Kevin Wells and John May also in the mix and looking to improve their current standings within the top ten.

Although Elderfield has lost his Pro MX1 lead,he still dictates proceedings in the Pro MX2 series, holding an 80 point advantage over current second place rider James Dodd.Dodd though is under intense pressure to maintain his placing from the hard charging Barr,Anderson,Luke Mellows and top AMCA rider Lee Dunham.Unfortunately, though Dunham will be absent from Foxhills as he is away on IMBA European Championship duty in France.Despite not competing in round one at Mallory Park,Barr is definitely the in-form rider in MX2 and after winning both races at Whitby,he will certainly be the rider to beat at Foxhill.

The Proppa.com MXY2 clashes continue to thrill, and in the race to win a 2011 250F bike and race gear,it’s still the ultra consistent Alexander Hussey who leads the way although he is just a very narrow two points ahead of Dan Thornhill.Proving just what quality and strength in depth this class possesses,so far James Dunn(4),Christian Taylor(3), Luke Norris(3),Luke Dean and Damon Wales have picked up the moto wins.At present less than 35 points separates the top four of Hussey,Thornhill,Ryan Williams and Dunn. But with another 200 points up for grabs, expect Foxhill to produce yet more great action.

In the Moto-Pro Suspension Mini Masters, just 29 points separates the current BW85cc top three of Sam Winterburn,Adam Darbyshire and Murray Clunie.Over in SW85cc,Casey Connelly holds a 45 point advantage over Tyron Cleaver with Charlie Hamlet just a further 6 points behind in 3rd.

Zac Stealey and Tom Watts are currently dominating the Kawasaki Masters class, battling for the right to pick up a brand new 2011 Kawasaki 250F and spares budget.Indeed they have shared all twelve moto wins with Stealey currently leading that contest by a 8-4 score count.Holding third in the series at present is Daniel Hill.

With Jamie Dobson, the early leader of the Amateur MX1 class, crashing out at Whitby,Scott Beevers has now took control although he is just three points ahead of young Matthew Williamson.Williamson is currently in fine form and will be determined to take control of proceedings at Foxhill.Expect George Walton and Michael Smith to also be well in contention in this group.

In the GSP Race Products Amateur MX2 class,Darren Carter has moved to the top of the series standings after overhauling early leader Daniel Brough who was restricted to a 6th overall finish at Whitby. However with Carter’s advantage at the top just 21 points,Brough will be looking to bounce back in style at Foxhill and expect Richard McDermott,Aled Bellis and Rick Lethaby to all be well in contention.

Shaun Scrivens leads the Michelin Masters MX1 class,20 points ahead of Aaron Lowe with Christopher Rose sitting in 3rd.In Michelin Masters MX2,despite suffering his first defeat of the Masters series at Whitby,Scott Smith still heads the table with Marc Roe in 2nd,Jack Jones 3rd and Scott’s brother Sam in 4th.
