This is it then,as the curtain comes down on the fabulous 2011 Wulfsport British Masters series promoted by the AMCA.Dean Moor Motorcross Park in Cumbria is the final round venue, but who will be the riders who can remain cool, composed and totally focussed and thus take home the lions share of the fantastic funds supplied by main sponsors,Wulfsport,Michelin,GSP Race Products,Raceworld.com,DK Off-Road,Scot Acerbis,Moto-Pro Suspension, Muk-Junkie and Charge Clothing.Well, with nine titles still to be decided, let’s have a brief look at the potential winners in each ultra competitive and hotly contested group.

MICHELIN MASTERS If your’e looking for a tight finish that could well go right down to the final race of the season, then this is the class. After 24 motos completed, incredibly just five points separate leader Jack Jones and Jamie Thompstone with Aiden Wigger and Emerson Jones still in with a mathematical chance of snatching the crown. This should be a thriller so don’t miss it!. Riding in the same race as the MX2 pilots,Isle-of-Man based Darren Fowden is still the man to beat in the MX1 group, boasting a 90 point advantage over Tom Davies with Ben Thompson the only other ride in title contention. At Hawkstone,Fowden finished 3rd overall behind Sam Kirby and Josh Scott, both riders having only their second Masters appearances of the season.

DK OFF-ROAD KAWASAKI MASTERS Battle as raged in the MX2 category of this class for just about the entire campaign, and just like the Michelin group its only a very narrow five points that separate Champions elect Paul Neale and Gareth Padgett.During the last two rounds,fast-starting Neale has won all eight motos and will certainly be ready and capable of bagging another maximum score at Dean Moor.Should the top two suffer a major failure though,3rd placed Richard Gray could still steal the glory.Another Dean Moor classic in prospect here!!. Equally tight is the battle for DK Kawasaki Masters MX1 as just seven points is the advantage leader Chris Neesam holds ahead of Ryan Bruce whilst Dale Brockhurst is just a further 39 points in arrears. So,it’s a three way fight for the crown but who will take home that number 1 plate?.

GSP RACE PRODUCTS AMATEUR MX1 This class as continually produced top class action as the hungry pack of 450F mounted riders attempt to topple the super Daniel Brough aboard his 250cc two-stroke KTM.Going into the final round,Brough still leads the chase 36 points ahead of AMCA MX1 Championship riders Jamie Dobson in 2nd and Michael Reynolds in 3rd.Both Dobson and Reynolds are in fine form at present so watch out as this title race is far from decided.

RACEWORLD.COM AMATEUR MX2 Incredibly 36 points is also the gap that separates the top two riders in an exciting MX2 Amateur contest.Ricky Lethaby leads the way from a duo of AMCA Championship riders Aled Bellis and Edward Briscoe.Whilst its looks quite likely that the title will go to either Lethaby or Bellis,Briscoe and 4th placed Charles Statt aboard his super quick two-stroke TM are sure to still have a big say in its destination.

MOTO-PRO SUSPENSION 85CC Despite a DNF in moto three at Hawkstone,Curtis Blamey is the lad in control of the BW85cc proceedings, holding a 79 point advantage over Rob Holyoake.Blamey should be the favourite for top honours with Loui Harris and Dylan Lewis also in medal contention in this class. Also remarkably suffering a DNF in moto three at Hawkstone,Henry Siddiqui still heads the SW85cc chase 59 points ahead of Bradley Malin with Howard Wainwright in 3rd.Having already bagged overall wins at Mallory,Whitby and Milton Malsor,Henry will be determined to finish his campaign in style at Dean Moor.

SCOTT ACERBIS MXY2 With the brilliant Dan Thornhill having already wrapped up the MXY2 crown, this class is all about the battle for the remaining medal slots.Indeed this could well prove to be another thriller as just 21 points separate Jay Thomas,Andrew Smart,Adam Darbyshire and Ryan Williams.

WULFSPORT PRO MASTERS Dominating the Pro MX1 action from round two onwards,Brad Anderson after recently again bagging the Maxxis ACU title should wrap up yet another crown in the opening Wulfsport action at Dean Moor. Requiring just 25 points,Brad can then celebrate providing the moto goes to plan whilst Bryan Mackenzie is already ensured of at least the runners-up spot. The remaining medal place in this class looks set to go to either Matthew Moffat or Ashley Wilde.Making it a very successful Masters season for the Maxxis Henderson LPE Kawasaki team, Bryan Mackenzie has already wrapped up the Pro MX2 title.Having his best ride of the series at Hawkstone,New Zealander John Phillips is now up into 3rd spot in this class, just 9 points behind Scott Probert whilst Matt Moffat is 4th,just ahead of Hawkstone winner Steven Carke.

So,its time for the talking to stop and the racing to start, may the best man win!!.Many thanks again to our fantastic sponsors and see you all in 2012 for a super Wulfsport British Masters Championship, the series that caters for riders of all abilities and ages!!,Pro,Youth and Amateur!!.

With one round still remaining of the AMCA promoted Wulfsport British Masters motocross series, both Bryan Mackenzie and Dan Thornhill can sit back and enjoy the spoils of victory after bagging enough points to deservedly wrap up their respective Pro MX2 and MXY2 titles. At the famous Hawkstone Park during last weekend,Bryan finished 2nd overall behind a delighted Steven Clarke whilst the talented Dan went one better to top his class and finish the job in style. For the other riders with title aspirations in the 2011 Masters,it will be though a nervous four week wait before the final round at Dean Moor on September 10th/11th with still another nine titles up for grabs!!.

Back to the Champions though, and Thornhill opened his Scott Acerbis MXY2 account at Hawkstone in the best way possible by recording a moto win ahead of Bryn Clarke,Rob Muscat and Adam Darbyshire. In the remaining races it was victory to Clarke,Thornhill again and finally Damon Strydon. So with Suzuki Youth GB star Thornhill already the king, mathematically Jay Thomas,Andrew Smart,Darbyshire,Ryan Williams and William Orritt will fight for the right to earn the silver and bronze medals in this class.

With his closest rival James Dodd a non-starter in Pro MX2 at Hawkstone,Bryan Mackenzie knew that a strong performance could well help him claim that crown. It did though not start too well for the Maxxis Henderson LPE Kawasaki pilot, falling on turn two and being relegated to last.Quickly remounting,he was on a charge, already up to 11th at the end of lap one, just behind teammate Connor Wakeley. At the front it was Maxxis Apico Suzuki rider Steven Clarke in control with Neville Bradshaw,Shane Carless,Scott Probert,Sonny Thompson and John Phillips chasing. After a great opening four laps,Bradshaw swooped into the lead and there he stayed all the way to the flag with Clarke in 2nd and Mackenzie getting back to a great 3rd.

In a dramatic Pro MX2 moto two clash,Clarke again led the way under severe pressure from Bradshaw and Mackenzie.Lap seven and Bradshaw hit the front quickly followed through by Mackenzie but the leaderboard was to change just two laps later as first Bradshaw’s bike seized forcing him to retire then Mackenzie fell.Frantically attempting to fire his machine back to life, the Scotsman could only watch as a rather surprised Clarke regained the moto advantage before scorching onto earn the win and overall verdict.Mackenzie eventually did regain forward momentum to get home in 2nd,enough to secure the title whilst New Zealander Phillips bagged his best result of the season to take 3rd overall ahead of Carless,Thompson and Probert.Of the AMCA riders contesting this class,Sean Frayne was the pick of the bunch in 12th overall.

Doubling up,Bryan Mac also contested the Pro MX1 class at Hawkstone and featured in a super opening race. For the first four laps of moto one,it was a LPE Kawasaki one-two as Gert Krestinov lead Mackenzie with Brad Anderson hot on their heels and looking for a way through. In typically determined fashion,’Ando’ was not to be outdone and just two fast circuits later was out infront and on his way to victory, another step closer to the Wulfsport Pro MX1 title.Taking 4th in this clash was Irishman Stuart Edmonds with Ross Rutherford 5th and Matthew Moffat 6th.

Pro MX1 moto two and it was Anderson all the way with Krestinov and Mackenzie chasing hard.On this occasion, Josh Waterman had been holding a strong 4th before dropping back to finish 11th,so it was Moffat,Rutherford and Kieran Shield who instead completed the top six. With one round remaining,’Ando’ leads the way and barring disaster should wrap up the crown in the opening moto at Dean Moor.

Looking for a tight finish, then how about the Michelin Masters MX2 class when after 24 races just an incredible five points separate leader Jack Jones and Jamie Thompstone with also Aiden Wigger and Emerson Jones still with a mathematical chance of snatching the title!!.At Hawkstone it was certainly advantage Jack Jones as he bagged three moto wins and the overall victory ahead of Emerson Jones and Tom Smith whilst Thompstone had to settle for 4th. Over in Michelin MX1,it’s slightly less tense but certainly still not decided.Isle of Man rider Darren Fowden finished 3rd overall during the latest action and holds a 90 point cushion with Tom Davies in 2nd spot.Bagging the MX1 moto wins in the Shropshire sand were Sam Kirby the overall victor and runner-up Josh Scott.

Although youngster Tommy Alba aboard a 250cc two-stroke Kawasaki recorded a maximum points score at Hawkstone in the DK Off-Road Kawasaki MX1 class, its Chris Neesam who still leads the title chase, just 7 points ahead of Ryan Bruce.Despite riding with a sore back,Neesam bravely kept his Championship hopes firmly alive by earning 4th overall behind Alba,Bruce and Dale Brockhurst. In DK Off-Road Kawasaki MX2 though, the Championship leadership as changed with Paul Neale back in control but just 14 points ahead of Gareth Padgett.During the weekend,Neale was certainly the boss, bagging four crucial race wins with Padgett getting home in 2nd overall ahead of Richard Gray and Taylor Dodds.

What an unpredictable contest the GSP Race Products Amateur MX1 title chase is proving to be with AMCA Championship riders Luke Meredith and Shaun Pearce filling the top two places on the Hawkstone podium despite not bagging a moto win.In a reversal of fortunes,Jake Boyes took the race one honours before fading, whilst after picking up just 33 points from the opening two clashes,Glenn Fletcher then earned himself a moto win brace.Going into the final event at Dean Moor though, its 250cc two-stroke pilot Daniel Brough who gloriously leads the way,36 points ahead of Jamie Dobson with Michael Reynolds in 3rd.

Incredibly,36 points is also the gap that separates Raceworld.com Amateur MX2 leader Ricky Lethaby and Aled Bellis. At Hawkstone though,it was victory to current 3rd place rider Edward Briscoe ahead of Lethaby,Charles Statt and Bellis in 4th.Statt on the two-stroke TM took two moto wins in the sand and along with Briscoe could still snatch the Masters crown in this class should the top two fail at Dean Moor.

In Moto-Pro Suspension racing for 85cc machines, victory in both classes went to riders making their first Masters appearances of the season as Josh Gilbert and Mitchell Lewis topped the respective BW and SW classes. In BW racing, series leader Curtis Blamey picked up the opening moto win of the weekend although a race three DNF was to restrict him to 7th overall.Eventual overall victor Gilbert was joined on the podium by Robbie Dowson and Greg Hyett.Over in the SW85cc class,Lewis(3) and Ethan Gatenby took the wins with Bradley Malin and George Sim-Mutch joining Lewis on the Hawkstone podium.Despite being restricted to a 9th overall finish following a moto three DNF, Henry Siddiqui still heads the title race although Malin has closed the gap down to 59 points.

So with Callum Swan taking the overall win in the Amateur Non-Qualifiers group, the action moves onto its final destination of the 2011 tour at Dean Moor.Who will earn those remaining nine titles on offer in what as been another great season of AMCA promoted Wulfsport Masters action, the series which offer riders of all abilities the chance to compete on some of the country’s top motocross circuits.

With the F1 entourage already moving into Silverstone in readiness for this weekends Grand Prix, and at the same time imposing logistical restrictions on Ken Winstanley and the Wulfsport British Masters team as they attempted to prepare the motocross track for round five of the 2011 series,a big decision had to be made!!.Should they stay on-site or with just three day’s remaining look for a new venue to stage the Masters event.Quickly the latter was the verdict and after considering several other tracks, the ACU and Jim Parker then came racing to the rescue with their very generous offer of the nearby Milton Malsor circuit. So,a massive thank-you from Ken and the Masters team to the ACU for ensuring the Wulfsport supported event was not only on,but also a great success, with the cancelled Foxhills races also squeezed into the weekend and the entire programme completed by 5pm on Sunday evening!!.

Running right alongside the M1 motorway, keeping the threat of rising dust down to an absolute minimum is imperative at Milton Malsor, hence the need to extensively water the track. This was to create wet, boggy patches thus turning an already technical circuit into a maze of different racing lines. The variation in conditions going from wet to dry areas certainly also created some very interesting action and tested riders abilities to the full. However coping in style was both Paul Neale(DK Off-Road Kawasaki Masters MX2) and Jamie McCarthy(Michelin Masters MX1) bagging maximum points from their five motos completed.

As expected,Neale was pushed all the way during the weekend by the equally determined Gareth Padgett including a stunning last race.Passing and repassing,Neale edged in front and as Padgett then came back for more, the latter crashed heavily.Quickly on his feet,Padgett though was still able to remount in 2nd spot, such was the pace of the top two. With the immaculate Neale taking top honours during round five,it means that he his now trailing Padgett by just two points in the series standings with Richard Gray currently holding 3rd,well ahead of Jordan Hughes,Steve Cornwall,James Purchase and co.In the DK Off-Road Kawasaki MX1 class,Dale Brockhurst certainly encountered an interesting last moto incident, going off the track and getting his front wheel stuck in the wooden pallet protecting a marshals point!!.The MX1 moto wins during round five was shared between overall victor Ryan Bruce and Chris Neesam with the latter leading the series.

After going through the Michelin Masters MX1 card unbeaten at Foxhills,Jamie McCarthy repeated the feat at Milton Malsor.Jamie was though maybe a little fortunate in the final clash when finding himself well downfield in the early stages only for the moto to be red-flagged!!.In the re-run,Jamie made no mistake to take yet another stylish win.

On each occasion, fast starting Josh Scott followed him home whilst Jamie Wilson claimed the final podium spot. Despite finishing 5th overall,Darren Fowden maintained the Championship lead ahead of Tom Davies and Ben Thompson. It’s certainly interesting at the top of the Michelin Masters MX2 as just 22 points separate Jamie Thompstone and Jack Jones. At Milton Malsor,Jones was on-fire and storming to three moto wins with Thompstone the other race victor. However topping the podium was the super consistent Emerson Jones aboard his Miller Plant Suzuki. In all four clashes,Emerson was to get home in a strong 2nd spot.

Forced to compete in the Non-Qualifiers at Foxhills due to the problems with the electronic timing system,Sam Davis proved just what a quick rider he is by flying to victory in the GSP Race Products Amateur MX1 class at Milton Malsor.Davis(2),Luke Meredith and Jamie Dobson took the race wins.Competing in both this class and the Pro MX1, series leader Daniel Brough had to settle for 4th overall with Davis,Dobson and Michael Reynolds the podium lads.

What a great contest Raceworld.com Amateur MX2 proved to be as at the end of proceedings,Charles Statt and Edward Briscoe finished on 188 points apiece, just two ahead of 3rd placed Aled Bellis.Crucially though Statt on the two-stroke TM had won the final moto to thus also take the overall victory. With class leader Ricky Lethaby restricted to 4th overall at Milton, this class looks all set to thrill right to the final chequered flag of the season!!.

After another quality accomplished performance,Scott Acerbis MXY2 leader Dan Thornhill could mathematically seal the 2011 crown during the penultimate round at Hawkstone Park in August.Dan won all four scheduled races at Milton Malsor, his only defeat coming in the outstanding cancelled Foxhills moto when Damon Strydon was first past the post. Indeed Strydon was to feature in a couple of great scraps with Thornhill although a moto three DNF was to ruin his own final podium chances. So,instead it was Rob Muscat and Shaun Springer taking the silverware with Jay Thomas, Ryan Williams and Sonny Oliver also in the frame.

Having his first Masters outing of the season,Liam Knight took top honours in the Moto-Pro Suspension BW85cc class at the weekend, heading home Curtis Blamey and Rob Holyoake.Winning the first three moto’s,Knight though was eventually beaten in the final clash with Blamey first past the flag followed by Holyoake and Oliver Benton. In the SW85cc group, that lad Henry Siddiqui continues to dominate with another overall win ahead of Masters first timer Jamie Carpenter and Harry Linton.Unluckiest rider was surely Jay Hague who won three out of four motos, only denied a certain podium placing following a third moto DNF.

So what about the Pro’s then?,well MX2 were first up and whilst Steven Clarke was brought to a standstill in a frantic,bar-bashing turn one, thus relegating him to last place,it was Neville Bradshaw who led the way chased by young Luke Hawkins,Shane Carless,Matt Burrows,John Phillips and Scott Probert.Quickly Bradshaw and Hawkins broke away from the pack as Probert moved stylishly up into 3rd.The action was though to get literally a little too hot for Scott as his Honda caught fire!!,forcing him out. With Jamie Skuse crashing heavily and injuring his wrist when 9th, the man now on a charge was series leader Bryan MacKenzie.Gating 8th,Bryan eventually got home in 3rd with James Dodd also stylishly moving up from an early 10th to finish 6th.After his earlier problems,Clarke had to settle for 14th.

New Zealander John Phillips grabbed the moto two holeshot but by the completion of lap one,it was Probert in control with Clarke,Carless,a brave Skuse and Luke Remer giving chase.By lap two,Clarke was up into 2nd and the Suzuki rider had already began his quest to reel in Probert.Eventually on lap seven it was mission accomplished and from here onwards there was only one winner as Clarke dominated all the way to the chequered flag.Who would finish in 3rd though?,well that honour eventually went to Bradshaw as he charged from 8th in style and thus also confirm a richly deserved overall win whilst Bryan Mac went from 14th up to 4th.After his great ride in moto one,Hawkins was missing from this clash after crashing and injuring his collarbone whilst ‘doubling up’ in the MX1 class.

Something very unusual occurred in the opening Pro MX1 contest as Brad Anderson was actually defeated. Although Ando had grabbed the holeshot,a smooth, stylish Kristian Whatley had found a way through on lap two and there he remained to earn a fine race win.Although Ando kept the Samsung Yamaha rider in his sights,he was never able to quite get close enough to challenge.Completing the entire race in a rather lonely 3rd spot was Martin Barr with MacKenzie 4th,Dorron Coutts 5th and Josh Waterman 6th.

In MX1 moto two,Anderson though ensured that there was to be no repeat success for Kristian with a simply blistering gate to flag win, some sixteen seconds ahead of his rival. After eventually finishing 10th in moto one,Gert Krestinov was to have a far more enjoyable moto two, taking 3rd after seeing off his Maxxis Henderson LPE teamate Bryan Mac and Lanes Kawasaki rider Alex Snow in a super tussle.Once again,Coutts and Waterman were riding high to earn 6th and 7th respectively whilst Barr retired from proceedings on lap one.

Well done again to the Wulfsport British Masters team for coping in their usual unflappable style with the late, late change of venue!!.

What a weekend round four of the Wulfsport British Masters proved to be as Ken Winstanley and his team were to have their organisational skills tested to the limit following a potentially disastrous day one. With heavy rain showers having already forced the Masters team to reroute the Foxhills track, the all-important electronic timing system then decided to throw a major wobbly!!.Frantically the organisers attempted to trace and repair the fault, even importing a new system, but despite their determined and very best efforts,it was still no go!!.So,the decision was eventually made to go back to the ‘old school’ method of lap scoring by pens and paper. To use this method though, you must be able to identify the riders,so it was imperative that both weather and track conditions were to improve.

Thankfully,Uncle Ken’s prayers were to be answered as the rain clouds dispersed and the going quickly dried to thus enable at least one full block of racing on what had been a very frustrating day one for everyone concerned. Following those Saturday problems, what a contrast the second day of action was to provide though!!,with the good old Foxhills track now totally dry,a bumper crowd coming through the gates and some thrilling racing, topped by an abundance of simply stunning Pro action ensuring it was smiles all round!!.

Wulfsport Pro MX2 was the first big clash on Super Sunday and it was Steven Clarke who led the charge chased by series leader Bryan MacKenzie with Elliot Banks-Browne in 3rd.Eventually Bryan Mac was to take control whilst Clarke suffered a heavy tumble when under pressure from EBB.With Bryan Mac and EBB now going for it at the front,Neville Bradshaw had displayed great determination to move up through and into the vacant 3rd spot ahead of a great battle raging between Scott Probert,Alan Keet,Luke Hawkins and James Dodd.Up at the front, the super EBB was to scorch past Bryan Mac to earn the win whilst Dodd outgunned Hawkins in the closing stages for a hard earned 6th.Also having a great ride in this moto was Wiltshire resident Jamie Skuse who blasted from19th all the way up to 8th.

The second Pro MX2 clash was all about a classic motocross battle between yet again EBB and Bryan Mac.Forging a massive advantage for themselves at the front of the pack, the two riders were to indulge in a rip roaring tussle, just inches apart for the majority of the contest and MacKenzie was even to pass and hold off Browne for a couple of laps, phew, what a race!!.However there’s simply no stopping EBB at present and the DB Racing Honda rider was to be again first past the post with Bradshaw in 3rd ahead of Probert,Hawkins,Skuse and Clarke.

Not to be outdone, the Pro MX1 boy;s also served up some fantastic entertainment. However there was to be carnage shortly after the start of moto one following a nasty spill which was to take-out several riders.Up at the front though it was Kristian Whatley in charge with local favourite Stephen Sword and Brad Anderson in tow.Eventually, Brad was to take advantage of a mistake by Swordy through the Foxhills whoops and thus move up into 2nd.Ando was now charging hard on Whatley, but the Samsung Yamaha rider looked cool, calm and in total control on his way to almost certain victory. However in a dramatic final few laps,it was all to change as Swordy recovered to not only repass Ando but then somehow snatch victory away from a startled Whatley on the very last circuit!!.Taking 4th was Bryan Mac with EBB 5th and Josh Waterman pinching 6th right on the finishing line!!.

Following that rare defeat for Ando in moto one,the PAR Homes Honda rider was determined to make amends in the second MX1 clash, grabbing the holeshot ahead of Whatley. As the race settled down, two distinctive battles developed,Anderson v Whatley for 1st and Sword v EBB for 3rd.Despite the very best efforts of Whatley though,Ando was not to be denied, digging deep and remaining very cool to take the win whilst Swordy was to eventually lose 3rd when slipping off on the final lap. After having been involved in that big moto one crash,Gert Krestinov had a strong ride in the second clash to get home in 5th.

So who else starred at Foxhills then?,well in Michelin Masters MX2,Jack Jones blasted to a maximum points score. However series leader Jamie Thompstone was always right in the mix to earn 3rd overall behind Emerson Jones and thus ensure that he maintained his series lead.Whilst the impressive late entry Jamie McCarthy also bagged three out of three race wins in the Michelin MX1 clash,Championship regulars Darren Fowden 2nd,Lee Tolan 3rd,Tom Davies 4th,Ben Thompson 5th and Ian Taylor 6th were all in the frame.

In the DK Off-Road Kawasaki Masters,MX1 series leader Peter Wainwright was a non-starter so Chris Neesam took full advantage to not only bag maximum points, but also move to the top of the standings.Following the Foxhills event,Ryan Bruce,Dale Brockhurst and John Robson have also all overhauled Wainwright.Over in MX2,Paul Neale and series leader Gareth Padgett continue to set a scintillating pace at the top of proceedings.Neale took the overall win during round four, just three points ahead of Padgett with Richard Gray in 3rd.This particular contest looks set to go right down to the wire and the final race at Dean Moor in September!!.

After his great victory at Whitby,Daniel Brough threatened to again go through the GSP Race Products Amateur MX1 card at Foxhills.Winning the opening two clashes,Daniel was on for that hat-trick only for George Purchase to ruin his dreams. However Brough has still slightly stretched his series lead ahead of Jamie Dobson,Michael Reynolds and Darryl Maxwell.

In a super Raceworld.com Amateur MX2 contest,Charles Statt on the two-stroke TM,series leader Ricky Lethaby and Aled Bellis all bagged a moto win each.In the final reckonings,Statt and Bellis had tied on points but the overall win belonged to the latter, courtesy of his last moto success.

Late entries,Paul Coates(2) and Damien Strydon were to earn the Scott Acerbis MXY2 moto wins at Foxhills. But although Coates also took the overall verdict, the accomplished Dan Thornhill, back aboard a Team Suzuki GB machine, produced another calculated performance to thus increase his series lead by bagging another super podium place in 2nd.Other riders to figure prominently in the MXY2 action were James Rutter,Ryan Williams and Jordan Wills.

Curtis Blamey and Jordan Moxey showed just why they are currently the top two lads in the Moto-Pro Suspension BW85cc class by also earning the top two steps on the Foxhills podium,Blamey was in simply terrific form in Wiltshire, blasting to three great moto wins.Joining them on the podium was Charlie Putman.Over in SW85cc,series leader Henry Siddiqui bagged the first two moto wins of the weekend before being defeated by Elliott Heap in the final clash. On the podium it was victory to Siddiqui ahead of Heap and Bradley Malin.

Well that’s it then ,what a weekend!!,but there is little time to recover with the next round less than two weeks away at Silverstone. However you can be sure that the Masters team will regroup and be back bigger and stronger than ever with another great event!!,and they have promised that all riders will still get their one extra moto cancelled at Foxhills included during the later meetings..

Regardless of whether its Pontrilas in the West or Whitby in the North East, the Wulfsport British Masters proves its popularity, attracting bumper entries and offering riders of all abilities the chance to compete on the countries top tracks.Venue for round three of the 2011 super series was the spectacular Skelder Bank circuit on the North Yorkshire coast and topping the bill was two of the countries current hottest moto cross stars,Brad Anderson and Elliott Banks-Browne.Indeed the dynamic duo ensured that they did not disappoint their fans by ripping to maximum points in the respective Wulfsport Pro MX1 and MX2 classes.EBB also took out a ‘double’ entry to compete in MX1 and went onto earn 2nd overall, pushing ‘Ando’ very hard for several laps during moto two. Also starring at Whitby were Daniel Brough and Graddie Featherstone, both recording great unbeaten performances on their way to the GSP Race Products Amateur MX1 and Moto-Pro Suspension BW85cc class wins.

Back to Pro MX1 though, and it was Gert Krestinov who led the moto one charge before being passed by Brad Anderson.By lap nine, the determined Gert had been relegated down to 4th with both Elliott Banks-Browne and Stephen Sword charging hard and finding a way through.Three circuits later though and Gert’s race was over following a snapped chain.Upfront Anderson galloped onto another victory, nearly seven seconds ahead of EBB with Swordy 3rd,Graeme Irwin 4th,Bryan MacKenzie 5th and Nathan Parker 6th.

Adam Reynolds grabbed the moto two holeshot and even led the opening lap of the contest!.Was ‘Ando’ though about to suffer a rare defeat, circulating down in 6th and having to pass the likes of EBB,Swordy and Krestinov?.No way,and although Swordy even briefly took control of proceedings,by lap four Brad had hauled himself back up the leaderboard and into pole position and there he remained despite coming under some intense pressure from that man EBB!!.With Swordy eventually having to settle for 3rd,Krestinov was to loose out in a tough tussle for 4th with a very determined Nathan Parker who had initially gated in 10th.

Steven Clarke was fastest away in the first Wulfsport Pro MX2 clash at Whitby although by the completion of the opening lap,Elliott Banks-Browne was already in control. After slipping back to 2nd,Clarke was to then get sucked into a great four way tussle with Neville Bradshaw,Graeme Irwin and eventually the hard charging Bryan MacKenzie who had stormed up the leaderboard from an early 10th.Whilst EBB marched onto another MX2 win,Irwin took 2nd from Bradshaw,MacKenzie,Clarke and series leader Matthew Moffatt.

After initially holding 4th spot in MX2 moto two,Moffatt was to disappear from proceedings on lap eight as EBB again styled it to the win chased by Bryan Mac,Bradshaw and Clarke.Such was the pace of the front four that 5th placed Irwin was left to complete a rather lonely race after fighting off the determined challenges of Jamie Skuse and Luke Remmer.Representing the AMCA in the Pro classes,Brad Turner took 12th overall in MX1 whilst Sean Frayne and Carl Benjamin were top MX2 contestants, picking up 14th and 15th places respectively.

Rob Muscat(2),Jay Thomas and eventual overall winner Bryn Clarke all bagged moto victories in the Scott Acerbis MXY2 class at Whitby.Thomas though could only manage 8th in the final standings after a race three DNF. Series leader Dan Thornhill was again in very consistent form with a 3/3/2/2 scorecard and 2nd overall.

In Moto-Pro Suspension 85cc racing,BW series leader Curtis Blamey missed out on a podium place as Gradie Featherstone bagged a superb maximum points haul.Making his first Masters appearance of the year,Gradie was to lead home Rob Holyoake and Jordan Moxey.Over in SW85cc though,Henry Siddiqui extended his title chasing advantage by scorching to three moto wins and claiming the top podium step at Whitby with Bradley Malin in 2nd and Harry Linton 3rd.

The DK Off-Road Kawasaki contest created overall victories for Peter Wainwright(MX1) and Gareth Padgett (MX2).In MX1,Dale Brockhurst(2),Ryan Bruce and Wainwright shared the moto wins and the podium places.Over in MX2,Paul Neale had a disastrous start after making the long trip from Gloucestershire to Whitby.Despite briefly leading moto one,Paul was to record a DNF going out on just lap three.Although he did then bounce back and still bag 147 vital points,it was to still only earn him 6th overall behind winner Gareth Padgett,Lee Clarkson,Jamie Tranckle,Richard Gray and Adam Savage. The Whitby result also meant that Padgett had overhauled Neale and jumped into the series lead!!.

Michelin Masters racing at Whitby saw winners trophies going to Darren Fowden in MX1 and Jack Jones in MX2.Fowden(2),Tom Davies and Lee James bagged the moto wins in MX1 although it was to be Ben Thompson and Anthony Leather who featured on the podium with Fowden. The round three results was to also see Fowden move to the top of the MX1 Championship table as previous leader Paul Morgan,a non-starter at Whitby ,dropped down to 7th.

Jack Jones recorded three moto wins on his way to a richly deserved Michelin MX2 top slot at Whitby.Jack’s only defeat occurred in moto two of the contest when he had to chase eventual overall runner-up Emerson Jones home.Ensuring he maintained his current Championship lead,Jamie Thompstone took 3rd overall in MX2 at the North Yorkshire circuit.

Take a bow Mr Daniel Brough!!,who aboard his 250cc two-stroke KTM took on and beat all of the 450F four-stroke thumpers in the GSP Race Products Amateur MX1 class.Daniel picked up that victory in blistering fashion,by winning all four Whitby motos!!.Taking 2nd overall was AMCA MX1 Championship rider Aaron Crowder having a rare Masters outing whilst Michael Smith was 3rd.In Raceworld.com Amateur MX2,Zac Stealey could well have mirrored Brough’s unbeaten achievement, winning three out of four motos. However it all went wrong for Zac in race two with a DNF,going out of proceedings on lap six.Victor on that occasion was to be Ricky Lethaby who also went onto claim the top podium step ahead of Edward Briscoe and Aled Bellis. At present,Lethaby is also a deserved leader of the Amateur MX2 title standings.

With Richard Tindale bagging a maximum points haul on his way to Amateur Non-Qualifiers glory, the Wulfsport Masters series riders can now look forward to their next round.Following the spectacular Whitby venue, its just keeps getting better and better with a trip to the famous Foxhills venue, avoid being disappointed and get your entries in fast!!.

Just a week after winning the Maxxis British Championship round at Lyng,Brad Anderson continued his recent run of superb form by taking both Pro MX1 race wins during the latest Wulfsport British Masters action at Pontrilas on Easter weekend. In Pro MX2,Matthew Moffat and Bryan MacKenzie finished level on 97 points apiece at the top of the scorecharts, the verdict going to Moffat, courtesy of his moto two victory. This was though a great effort by Bryan Mac, for after competing in his native Scotland on Saturday,he then made the long dash South to race at Pontrilas. That’s total commitment for you and a lesson to be learned by some of his fellow riders!!.

Back to the racing, and not only did MacKenzie make that long journey to Pontrilas, but he also ‘double’ entered. His opening ride of the day in MX1 did not start to well though, down in 23rd position in the early stages,Bryan had to work very hard to get back to 6th.At the front,Alex Snow had grabbed the holeshot to lead the opening lap before Brad Anderson flew past him on lap two. From here onwards,Brad controlled proceedings although a very gallant Snow was always hot on his heels to finish just four seconds in arrears.Such was the pace of the top two in this clash that Ross Hill was left to earn a rather distant 3rd place ahead of Stuart Edmonds and Dorran Coutts.

It was to be a rather disastrous start for the AMCA riders in Pro MX1 moto two as Lee Dunham,Glen Phillips and Brad Turner all fell on what was to prove to be a very tricky new redesigned opening turn at Pontrilas.Once again ‘Ando’ was quickly in control at the front, blasting to a comfortable win from Snow,Coutts,Hill,MacKenzie and Jim Davies having a great ride on the TM.Of the early fallers, both Dunham and Phillips were forced to retire although Turner did go on to finish 14th overall, one place behind Joe Barry.

James Dodd led the charge to turn one of the opening Pro MX2 clash as both Connor Walkley and top AMCA rider Jack Taylor bit the dust. From here onwards though and leading this contest all the way to the flag was Bryan MacKenzie with Matthew Moffat in tow.Just behind the top two,a very entertaining tussle for 3rd spot was developing which featured Dodd,Josh Waterman,Stuart Edmonds and New Zealander John Phillips.Eventually that four became two as 2T pilots Waterman and Edmonds locked horns with the verdict going to Irishman Edmonds. After their earlier problems,Taylor blasted back to earn a great 9th whilst Walkley was 17th.

Buoyed by that great comeback,Taylor then claimed the Pro MX2 moto two holeshot although after a problematic opening lap he had already slipped back to 15th,eventually retiring.Taking control at the front was Moffat with Walkley on this occasion starting strongly and holding 2nd,only to again crash and drop back to 8th.Following Walkley’s fall, Waterman took up the chance to chase a rapid Moffat although all eyes were now firmly focussed on a hard charging MacKenzie.Gating in 7th,Bryan moved through to eventually rapidly reel in Moffat, missing out on snatching a super victory by just a narrow two seconds.Edmonds also had another great ride in this moto, moving from 9th to slot into an eventual 3rd ahead of Waterman,Scott Probert,Matt Burrows and Steven Clarke with Carl Benjamin the top AMCA rider home in 14th.

In a super Scott Acerbis MXY2 contest,Jay Thomas(2),Lloyd Pettett and Dan Thornhill all won races.Saving the best until last, moto four, the final race of the weekend was an absolute cracker!.Ryan Williams,James Yates,Thornhill and Tommy Alba hotly disputed the lead with Thornhill eventually taking control on lap six for the win. That final moto victory for Dan got him home first in the overall standings, five points clear of Alba with Thomas in 3rd.

Both Danny Lanfear and Jay Hague suffered just one defeat on their way to respective overall victories in the Moto Pro Suspension BW85cc and SW85cc classes.Lanfear’s one reverse occurred in moto three when Alistair Evans was first past the post ahead of Curtis Blamey,Lanfear,Jordan Moxey and Rob Holyoake.Hague’s one slight blot on an otherwise immaculate weekend came in the very first moto.In that clash,it was victory to Henry Siddiqui with Harry Linton 2nd,Hague 3rd,Declan Ryan 4th,Howard Wainwright 5th and Louis Hurst 6th.

In the Unlimited DK Off-Road Kawasaki Masters,Peter Wainwright(2),Ben Sweeney and Chris Neesam took the MX1 honours. After finishing runner-up in the overall standings at Mallory Park during round one,Wainwright was to go one place better at Pontrilas, taking the glory ahead of Jamie Hallett and Neesam.Over in MX2,that man Paul Neale was again the victor, his only reverse coming in moto two when he had to settle for 2nd place behind Gareth Padgett. Indeed Padgett was to go onto earn the MX2 overall runners-up slot with Patrick Collins in 3rd.

The other Unlimited class,Michelin Masters, resulted in overall wins for Paul Morgan and Jamie Thompstone. After being first past the chequered flag in the opening two MX1 motos, first round victor Darren Fowden looked set for more success at Pontrilas. However a disastrous no-score in moto three was to instead restrict Darren to 7th overall behind Morgan,Ben Thompson,Tom Davies,Lee Tolan,Ian McCartney and Aaron Collins. In Michelin MX2,Thompstone and Emerson Jones won two races apiece although they were to be sandwiched on the podium by the consistent Jack Jones.

After finishing on the GSP Race Products Amateur MX1 podium at Mallory Park back in March, both Jamie Dobson and Darryl Maxwell missed out during round two at Pontrilas.Taking the win instead was Scott Bates with a super performance.Third at Mallory,Bates reeled off an hat-trick of moto wins on the weekend before chasing Stephen Tillotson home in the last clash. So whilst Bates deservedly took the overall victors spoils ahead of Daniel Brough and George Purchase,Dobson and Maxwell had to settle for 4th and 6th places respectively.

The Raceworld.com Amateur MX2 contest at Pontrilas provided an abundance of great racing and four different moto winners in Martin Jones,Sam Smith,Zac Stealey and Charles Statt.Indeed Statt’s final race which was to see him aboard his two-stroke TM battle and outgun Ricky Lethaby’s four-stroke Yamaha was typical of the great Masters action throughout the weekend.Eventual overall victory in this class went to Stealey, just four points ahead of Statt with Lethaby in 3rd.

With Thomas Card heading home Christopher Rose and Liam Noden in the Amateur Non-Qualifiers contest to thus wrap up round two, there is just a short three week break until the super Wulfsport British Masters again fires into life at Whitby.Don’t forget riders, this series carries the largest overall prize fund in European motocross so to avoid any disappointment get your entries in fast!!,the closing date is May 4th.

With the super 2011 Wulfsport British Masters motocross series now up and running, there can be no doubting who was the major winner following round 1 at Mallory Park.Warming up for his new GP campaign,American star Zac Osborne brilliantly blasted to all four Pro class moto victories, earning himself a very cool £2,000 in the process!!.Whilst the very talented Bike It Cosworth Yamaha pilot deservedly took the headlines and Michelin MX1 rider Darren Fowden also bagged maximum points, there was still plenty of great racing and close finishes throughout the weekend as a 320 strong entry attempted to score vital early season points in the race to claim a part of the tasty Wulfsport Masters prize fund.

Going back to Pro MX1,and two riders,Gert Krestinov and Kristian Whatley, were to suffer early setbacks which was to see them withdraw from the meeting before the racing had even started!!.Gert was forced out with a shoulder injury whilst Kristian’s Yamaha engine expired. However despite there being two spare slots on the starting grid, moto one was to be thriller.Maxxis Henderson LPE Kawasaki pilot Bryan Mackenzie led the early exchanges before being passed on the same lap by both Zac Osborne and Brad Anderson. In determined mood,Brad then rapidly reeled in Osborne only for the two battling riders to collide on the apex of a corner and both bite the dirt!!.Quickly both on their feet,Osbourne was first to fire his machine back to life and still somehow maintain the race leadership whilst Anderson was to lose his 2nd place to Mackenzie. From here onwards the battle continued to rage but Osborne remained cool and thus earn the win from Mackenzie,Anderson,Matthew Moffat,Alfie Smith, Ashley Wilde and Ross Hill who had a great ride to recover back from an early 19th spot.In moto two,Anderson quickly passed Mackenzie and again chased leader Osbourne.Although the American then slipped off in the early laps, thus allowing Brad to dramatically close the gap,he managed to remount and restart with just a fraction of a second to spare. Immediately regaining his rthymn,Zac turned on the gas before racing to a massive victory margin as Mackenzie took 3rd with Hill a great 4th,New Zealander Kieran Scheele 5th and Maarten Cremers 6th.

In the opening Pro MX2 contest, the super Osborne led from gate to flag, taking the win by nearly 14 seconds. Although Osborne dominated proceedings, the action behind him was red-hot as Alan Keet,Luke Hawkins and reigning Masters champion Scott Elderfield locked horns, the verdict eventually going to a very impressive Keet. With Scott Probert in 5th and Matthew Moffat 6th,MacKenzie was to suffer an eventful race.Starting in 9th,Bryan started climbing the leaderboard before then slipping backwards again!!.After producing a very impressive ride in moto one,PAR Honda youngster Hawkins was again right in the thick of the action during the second MX2 clash.Whilst Osborne strolled to another victory and £500,Hawkins took a great runners-up spot with teamate Anthony Reville earning a super 3rd ahead of Keet 4th,MacKenzie 5th and Elderfield 6th.

In the Scott Acerbis MXY2 Youth contest, reigning Masters champion Dan Thornhill got off to a flyer by winning three out of four motos and also the overall verdict.Dan’s only reverse came in the opening clash of the weekend when the eventual runner-up Andrew Smart was first past the post. Also starting their MXY2 title quests strongly was Damon Wales,Cody Ling,Rhys Yates and Jay Thomas whilst only a disastrous moto two prevented Ryan Williams from finishing higher up the leaderboard.

Curtis Blamey and Henry Siddiqui finished as top lads in the combined Moto-Pro Suspension BW/SW85cc class.Blamey(2),Daniel Lanfear and Loui Harris took the BW moto wins with Jordan Moxey also having a great weekend to finish 3rd overall.Over in SW85cc,Siddiqui was in very impressive early season form, winning three out of four races, the last victory going to eventual runner-up Bradley Malin whilst Elliott Heap took the final podium place.

In the new unlimited DK Off-Road Kawasaki Masters class for riders only mounted on the green machines,Chris Neesam was top MX1 pilot whilst MX2 honours went to the super quick Paul Neale.Neesam was defeated just once throughout the weekend in the MX1 group when headed by Peter Wainwright,Jamie Hallett,Dale Brockhurst,John Robson and Ryan Bruce. In MX2,Neale also suffered one reverse after being defeated by Gareth Padgett.Indeed Padgett was to go onto eventually finish as runner-up in the MX2 class with Liam Wright in 3rd.

As per 2010,Michelin were also again supporting an unlimited Masters group and during the Mallory opener it was Darren Fowden(MX1) and Jamie Thompstone(MX2) who was to take the victories.Restricted to just three outings each due to an unfortunate accident in the final race on Saturday,Fowden recorded a superb maximum points score in MX1 chased home on each occasion by Lee Tolan in 2nd and Paul Morgan 3rd.Over in MX2,Jack Jones(2) and Thompstone took the wins.Indeed but for a no-score in the opening race on Sunday,Jones could well have matched Fowden’s unbeaten heroics.Instead,Jack had to settle for 8th overall whilst Aidan Wigger and Ben Lightbown completed the MX2 podium places.

Back in 2010,Jamie Dobson started his Masters Amateur MX1 campaign with victory at Mallory before suffering an unfortunate injury during round three at Whitby.Fast forward one year and Dobson again got off to a flyer at Mallory by taking the overall win.At the weekend,Jamie posted a 1/3/3/1 scorecard in the GSP Race Products supported contest with Darryl Maxwell and Scott Bates not only taking the other moto wins but also the remaining podium places. The 2010 Masters Amateur MX2 class top two of Darren Carter and Daniel Brough were also in action in this group, taking an eventual 5th and 6th overall respectively.

With Carter and Brough moving on into the Amateur MX1 racing,Ricky Lethaby was the top man at Mallory in a very competitive Raceworld.com Amateur MX2 class.Lethaby’s only defeats came in moto’s two and three when headed by the 2010 Kawasaki Masters champion Zac Stealey. In a very busy weekend,Zac also contested the Pro MX2 class which may account for his eventual 6th place overall in this opener behind Aled Bellis,Sam Smith,Tom Neesam and Luke Smith.

Completing the action,Alex Hefferon(2),Scott Rundle and Darryl Lee took the Amateur Non-Qualifiers moto wins with overall victory going to Lee.So with the dust settling on a super Wulfsport British Masters opener, the focus will now quickly turn to round two on Easter weekend at Pontrilas and yet more thrilling race action from the Pro,Youth and Amateur riders in attendance!!.

It may have been cold this Winter, but its red hot out on track for the riders contesting the Muk Junkie British Masters Winter series. After three super rounds at Leisure Lakes,Preston Docks and Mepal, all four classes are set to go down to the wire during the final meeting at Finningley on Sunday,6th February.

In the Amateur MX1 class,Kawasaki rider Kevin Wells leads the way following a stunning start to the series.Wells won all three motos at both Leisure Lakes and Preston Docks before suffering his first defeat at Mepal.Despite that dominance though,Wells holds just a 14 point advantage ahead of an equally consistent and determined Ryan Bruce. In the nine races contested so far,Bruce has finished inside the top five on each occasion!.Holding 3rd in the series and a further 70 points in arrears is Christian Dicks whilst Paul White and Scott Matthews, the only other riders to have completed in all three previous rounds, currently round off the top five overall championship positions.

Over in Amateur MX2,Ashley Wilson leads the way ahead of Daniel Woodward,John Hall,Robbie Wilson,David Blackburn and Stuart Houlston.Incredibly,6th placed Houlston is though the only rider in that group who has recorded a moto win!!.For leader Ashley Wilson, consistency as certainly again been the key word, picking up podium places at both Leisure Lakes and Mepal whilst also having never finished lower than 6th spot in any of the nine motos contested.Wilson currently holds just a 20 point advantage over Woodward whilst 3rd placed Hall is only a further 12 points behind.

Luke Newman the Muk Junkie MXY2 series leader boasts the largest Winter series advantage going into the final round at Finningley.Luke sits some 71 points ahead of Callum Sloman with Tom Kelly 3rd,Simon Booth 4th,Jake Lord 5th and Stuart Owen 6th.In the three previous rounds, the MXY2 class as provided both the biggest entry numbers and indeed the most competitive racing.Newman,Callum Luxton,James Dunn,Kelly and Nathan Watson have all recorded moto wins.Although Newman must now be considered the favourite to take the crown in this class following podium spots at Leisure Lakes and Preston Docks,Kelly could well be the spoiler. After having missed the opening round at Leisure Lakes, young Tom has since reeled off five out of six races wins in this MXY2 class!!.

Incredibly despite brilliantly winning seven out of nine motos, scoring two overall victories and being on the podium in all three rounds,Mini-Masters BW85cc leader Jack Kelly still only holds a 45 point advantage in the race for that particular title. That’s due to the equally incredible performances of William Wall who just like Kelly has also been on the podium in all three rounds!.At present,Myles Duffy holds 3rd in this class ahead of Sam Wragg, Paul Coffey and Jordan Roberts.

In Mini-Masters SW85cc,Ethan Gatenby has superbly won the opening seven races of the series before suffering a DNF at Mepal. That one non-finish as resulted in Aaron Burns,a rider who has never finished lower than in 5th spot in any of the nine motos completed, deservedly jumping into pole position in the series standings. However Aaron is under intense pressure from Ethan who is still just 10 points in arrears and a very determined Matt Lomas who is just a very narrow further 2 points behind.Such is the dominance of Burns,Gatenby and Lomas that the Muk Junkie SW85cc champion will certainly come from one of these three very determined lads. With Howard Wainwright,Jack Camwell and Dee Jaywalker still chasing hard, this promises to be an absolute Finningley thriller.

They think it’s all over, well it is now!! But what a test of a riders ability and mental strength the final round of the super Wulfsport British Masters at Pontrilas proved to be.Following a pleasant day one in dry conditions,a heavy belt of rain for several hours on Sunday morning turned an already watered track into an absolute quagmire, making it an achievement just to complete a moto!!.In the dry going on Saturday,Zac Stealey and Matthew Williamson wasted no time in quickly wrapping up their respective Kawasaki Masters and Amateur MX1 titles as expected. For Darren Carter(GSP Amateur MX2),Casey Connelly(Moto-Pro Suspension SW85cc),Adam Sterry(Moto-Pro Suspension BW85cc) and Dan Thornhill(Proppa.com MXY2) though,it was to be an anxious wait to the final chequered flag of the season, having to conquer the awful track conditions and battle their way to glory.Unluckiest rider in this crucial weekend, well that must surely be Moto-Pro Suspension BW85cc pilot Sam Winterburn. After leading the championship chase for virtually the entire season,Sam failed to score a point on Sunday following machine problems. With his own bike expiring in moto one,his hopes were then totally destroyed as a borrowed Suzuki overheated and boiled dry in the final clash!!.

Back to the winners though and the first title of the weekend to be wrapped up came in the Kawasaki Masters. Requiring just 9 points to earn the crown, the immaculate Zac Stealey finished the job in style with a brace of moto wins on day one.On Sunday though, the eventual championship runner-up Edward Briscoe took control to record a moto win brace of his own and the overall Pontrilas victory.Showing great determination in the difficult going,Greg McKinney completed the Pontrilas podium ahead of Patrick Collins,Emerson Jones and Ash Newton.

Second rider to be crowned a 2010 Wulfsport British Masters champion was Amateur MX1 winner Matthew Williamson by finishing 3rd in moto one on Saturday behind James Lane and Matthew Thomas. In the remaining action in this class,George Purchase,Lane and Thomas picked up the moto victories. With Williamson deciding not to compete on day two,AMCA MX1 Championship rider Lane went onto take the overall Pontrilas win from Thomas and Michael Smith.

Whilst Stealey and Williamson could relax after their opening Pontrilas rides, the pressure was certainly on Dan Thornhill,James Dunn,Ryan Williams and Alexander Hussey in Proppa.com MXY2 as they could all mathematically still earn the title.Carrying a slender 12 point advantage into the final round,Thornhill got off to the best start in the first of five motos by finishing 4th behind Glenn Fletcher,Jack Timms and Jake Page with Williams 5th,Hussey 7th and Dunn surprisingly down in 10th.In the remaining day one clashes,Page and Dunn picked up the wins to leave the championship standings reading Thornhill on 1108 points,Dunn 1085,Williams 1045 and Hussey 1019.With Hussey not competing on day two,Dunn aboard his 125cc Suzuki proved to be the mud master with a brace of wins although with his Suzuki Youth GB teamate Thornhill chasing him home in both clashes,it was to be arise King Dan the 2010 Proppa.com MXY2 Champion, well done that man!!.

Another very tight finish appeared on the cards in the GSP Race Products Amateur MX2 class as just 11 points separated leader Daniel Brough and his season long rival Darren Carter.Having lost his series advantage during the previous round at Hawkstone Park,Carter arrived in determined mood at Pontrilas and started with a great moto one victory whilst Brough was down in 7th.By then chasing Stephen Tillotson home in moto two,it meant that at the end of day one,Carter was again back in control of the championship on 1140 points with Brough on 1128.So,with day two dawning wet and muddy, who could remain composed and controlled to take that crown.Well,Carter and Brough then recorded a moto win each with the title going to Carter in a truly outstanding season long tussle.

As already mentioned, the Moto-Pro Suspension BW85cc class was to prove to be total heartache for young Sam Winterburn as a disastrous no-score on day two robbed him of the title.Taking full advantage was Adam Sterry who despite not even contesting round two at Dean Moor was to still snatch the crown,34 points ahead of the unfortunate Winterburn.Along the way,Adam has won 15 out of 24 moto’s he has started. At Pontrilas in typical fashion,Adam was first past the chequered flag in the opening two clashes although Sam started the final day of action still with a clear 61 points championship advantage. However in the mud of day two and following that unwanted brace of DNF’s due to bike problems for Winterburn,it was Murray Clunie and Sterry who took the moto wins.Clunie’s moto victory was to help elevate him onto the Pontrilas podium alongside winner Sterry and Curtis Blamey.

In the Moto-Pro Suspension SW85cc class,Casey Connelly, the season long leader went onto claim the crown although he was certainly made to work hard by his main challengers Charlie Hamlet and Tyron Cleaver.Indeed at Pontrilas,Hamlet(3) and Cleaver picked up the moto wins.In the final standings,Hamlet finished just 13 points off top spot, but its many congratulations to the immaculate Connelly for taking the title,a very worthy champion.

Having already confirmed their titles, both Michelin Masters champions,Aaron Lowe and Marc Roe could relax and enjoy their racing at Pontrilas. So in MX1,Jamie Wilson,Darren Fowden,Jamie Simpson and finally overall winner Dave Anthony picked up the moto victories. In the championship standings,Christopher Rose and Chris Peaty were to earn the silver and bronze positions. In Michelin Masters MX2,Scott Smith(2),Nathan Buckland and Tom Davies grabbed the wins.On the Pontrilas podium it was victor Davies with Smith in 2nd and Scott Williamson 3rd.This podium placing was enough to earn early season championship leader Smith a deserved overall silver medal position with John Hall 3rd.

So what about the Pro’s?,well with Ben LaMay still not yet able to return to the UK,it meant that Scott Elderfield was assured of the Wulfsport Pro MX1 title without even racing. However displaying a fantastic professional attitude and loyalty towards the Masters series,Scott still competed at Pontrilas.Proceedings did not start too well though for the champion as he slipped off on turn one of the opening MX1 moto. However in one stunning lap he had blasted back to 3rd behind leader Jim Murro and Jamie Lewis.Moving on up into 2nd,Scott’s race was to then come to an abrupt end one lap later whilst leader Murro disappeared on lap seven with bike problems.Moving through to take the win was Lewis chased hard by Shane Carless with Lewis King blasting from an early 16th up to 3rd ahead of Kevin Wells,Luke Blanchard and Jamie Law.In moto two,Elderfield made no mistake on this occasion to lead from start to finish with Lewis in 2nd ahead of Ashley Wilde,Carless,Wells and Blanchard.Once again,Murro had made another great start aboard his TM before retiring on lap four.

Enjoying the Pontrilas mud!!,Carless controlled the opening Wulfsport Pro MX2 encounter from gate to flag, chased hard by Elderfield,Scott Probert and Matt Burrows. However with conditions beginning to slightly improve and the sun even trying to make an appearance, the tables were turned in the last Pro MX2 clash of a fantastic Wulfsport Masters season. In a super encounter for the lead,Carless inserted heavy pressure on Elderfield until past half distance before slipping off.So in the final race of a long, hard season,it was victory to Elderfield ahead of Carless,Probert,Wilde, Burrows and Aled Bellis.

Well done to all of the participating riders both at Pontrilas and throughout the series, and many thanks for the fantastic generosity of main sponsors Wulfsport,Kawasaki,Michelin,Proppa.com,GSP Race Products,Moto-Pro Suspension,Charge Clothing and Muk-Junkie.See you all in 2011!!.
