The curtain maybe coming down on the super 2010 Wulfsport British Masters series at Pontrilas this weekend, but what a red-hot all-action thriller the finale promises to be.Although Scott Elderfield,Aaron Lowe and Marc Roe have already claimed the respective Wulfsport Pro MX2,Michelin MX1 and Michelin MX2 crowns, there is still another seven titles to be decided.

Big battle number one comes in the Proppa.com MXY2 class, promising one of the closest Wulfsport Masters finishes as just an incredibly narrow 12 points separate the top two of Suzuki Youth GB riders Dan Thornhill and James Dunn. Then,in 3rd spot and only a further 33 points in arrears is Ryan Williams whilst mathematically early series leader Alexander Hussey can also snatch the crown.Looking for a spoiler, then how about 5th placed Luke Norris who despite missing the opening two rounds as still amassed 714 points. In the race for the lease of a brand new 2011 250F, the Proppa MXY2 lads will compete in five motos at Pontrilas,to thus also incorporate their race postponed at the previous Hawkstone round. So who will be crowned king?,will it be Suzuki GB rider Thornhill who has led the series since round four, his exciting Suzuki GB teamate Dunn, brilliantly campaigning the 125cc two-stroke,KTM mounted Williams or round one winner Hussey.Whatever the outcome,it’s sure to be an absolute thriller!!.

Big battle number two comes in the GSP Race Products Amateur MX2 class with another contest which looks set to go right down to the wire.Just 11 points separates the top two lads Daniel Brough and Darren Carter. After having led all the way,Carter was eventually overhauled at Hawkstone Park by Brough, even missing out on a podium place for the first time in the 2010 Masters Championship.Currently in superb form,Aled Bellis holds 3rd in the Championship some further 107 points in arrears of Carter. So who can handle the pressure of Pontrilas and take that crown, will it be Brough,Carter, Bellis or even Ricky Lethaby, currently in 4th place,it’s sure to be a Wulfsport Masters classic.

Whilst the GSP Race Products Amateur MX2 class will almost certainly be going right down to the final chequered flag of the season,Amateur MX1 leader Matthew Williamson requires just 3 points to claim his title.Currently holding 2nd spot is George Walton whilst Michael Smith is in 3rd despite missing round five at Landrake.Like Williamson, the current leader of the Kawasaki Masters class,Zac Stealey, should have his title in the bag by the completion of moto one at Pontrilas. After seeing his season long rival Tom Watts crash out of the Kawasaki Masters during round six at Hawkstone Park,Zac now requires just 9 points to get his hands on that lovely 2011 Kawasaki 250F on offer.Although Stealey is just about home and dry,who will claim the 2nd and 3rd spots in this class?.Edward Briscoe moved up into the runners-up position following Hawkstone, leaping above Watts. However such as been Watts incredible consistency this season that even should he not compete at Pontrilas he could still gain some consolation by earning the bronze medal.

Current 4th placed rider Daniel Hill has been out of action following a crash in the AMCA Championship whilst 5th placed Ash Newton would require maximum Pontrilas points to overhaul Watts.

Having led the Moto-Pro Suspension BW85cc class since round two,Sam Winterburn will certainly be hoping to wrap up his title at Pontrilas. However throughout the series,Adam Sterry,Murray Clunie and Thomas Davies have proved to be very determined challengers. At present Sam holds a 73 point advantage ahead of Adam,a rider who despite missing round two at Dean Moor is still in serious title contention. In Moto-Pro Suspension SW85cc,Casey Connelly has finished on the podium in five out of the six rounds completed and also leads the title race. However despite that great consistency, his advantage at the top is just 25 points with Charlie Hamlet in 2nd and Tyron Cleaver a further 13 points in arrears in 3rd spot. With the top three in great form,Connelly knows that he will almost certainly require another podium placing at Pontrilas to be crowned champion for 2010!!.

With both Michelin Masters title already sorted, the race is on to decide who will pick up those remaining medal positions. In MX1 the 2nd and 3rd places will be disputed between Matt Mclean,Christopher Rose,Chris Peaty and Ian Taylor with early series leader Shaun Scrivens looking to miss out after breaking his shoulder during round five at Landrake. In MX2,the Smith brothers Scott and Sam,John Hall,Adam Savage,Tom Drabble and James Bodley all have a mathematical chance of a medal position. However on current form, the Smith boys surely look favourite with Scott Smith, the leader after three rounds, currently 61 points ahead of his brother Sam.

In Wulfsport Pro MX1,Scott Elderfield looks set to record a glorious 2010 Masters double as he currently leads the title race with a 69 point advantage.Early pace-setter in this class was Gordon Crockard although the Irishman has not competed during the last two rounds at Landrake and Hawkstone Park.As a result ‘Crockstar’ has dropped down to 4th in the MX1 standings behind Ben LaMay and Jamie Lewis. With LaMay now also a doubtful starter at Pontrilas and the only rider able to mathematically overhaul Elderfield, the young PAR Honda rider could claim the crown without even turning a wheel!!.

As mentioned with Scott having already wrapped up the Wulfsport Pro MX2 title, the battle is now on for the silver and bronze medal positions. At present Matthew Moffat holds 2nd just 11 points ahead of Martin Barr although these lads are still under severe pressure from Kristian Whatley,Brad Anderson and Luke Mellows.Maintaining the AMCA honour in this class,Lee Dunham the current AMCA MX2 Champion holds 8th with Carl Benjamin,Jack Taylor and Shane Holmes holding 13th ,14th and 15th places respectively.

With additional prizes again being very kindly supplied by Charge Clothing and Muk-Junkie,this is sure to be a fitting finale to a great motocross series. Why get yourself along to Howton Court,Pontrilas on the weekend of September 4th/5th September and have a look. The circuit will be signposted off the A465 Hereford to Abergavenny road.

It’s many congratulations to Scott Elderfield,Aaron Lowe and Marc Roe as they wrapped up their respective Pro MX2,Michelin MX1 and Michelin MX2 titles during round six of the Wulfsport British Masters at Hawkstone Park.Whilst the above lads deservedly enjoyed the spoils of victory, the sport of motocross was also a major winner as a bumper 350 strong entry proved yet again what a popular series the Wulfsport Masters really is by catering for riders of all ages and abilities. And on another weekend of dramatic action, the Kawasaki Masters class saw season long title contender Tom Watts unluckily crash out leaving rival Zac Stealey now requiring just nine points to earn the crown whilst Amateur MX1 leader Matthew Williamson was left just an incredibly narrow three points short of confirming Masters championship glory.

Typical of the great Wulfsport Masters action at Hawkstone,Martin Barr,Brad Anderson and Elliott Banks-Browne produced a classic opening Pro MX2 battle, hotly disputing the lead with Shane Careless,Scott Elderfield and Neville Bradshaw also giving chase. After seven hot laps,Anderson blasted into pole position only to suffer a badly bent brake disc one circuit later which enabled Barr to regain control. However the race was then to be red-flagged due to a fallen rider so the result was counted back to positions on lap seven, thus handing the eventual victory to a surprised Anderson with Barr taking 2nd,Banks-Browne 3rd,Elderfield 4th,Bradshaw 5th and Careless 6th.After encountering problems with a trapped breather pipe on his Maxxis Henderson LPE Kawasaki,Kristian Whatley climbed aboard team mate Lee Dunham’s bike, getting home in 7th after gating 18th.

After grabbing the holeshot,Careless was to disappear on the opening lap of Pro MX2 moto two and it was Banks-Browne who quickly took control. From here onwards, the DB Honda rider controlled all the way to the chequered flag, eventually finishing nearly eleven seconds clear of runner-up Barr.In another successful outing for the PAR Honda boys,Anderson took 3rd with eventual title winner Elderfield in 4th,Whatley back on his own bike 5th and Bradshaw 6th.Currently in fine form, young AMCA rider Jack Taylor stormed from 17th to finish in a fine 8th,one place behind Matthew Moffat, the rider who now sits in 2nd place in the Wulfsport Pro MX2 standings.

In an unpredictable Wulfsport Pro MX1 class,James Noble,Ben LaMay and Scott Elderfield took the podium places after all finishing on 88 points apiece but the Hawkstone moto wins went to Brad Anderson and Gert Krestinov. Anderson was in great form in Pro MX1 race one, leading all the way to take victory nearly 14 seconds ahead of Martin Barr with Elderfield in 3rd.Having his last meeting in the UK before being forced to return to America and reapply for a visa, LaMay was 4th with Proppa Honda riders Noble and Nathan Parker taking 5th and 6th.Earlier in this clash, Krestinov had held 4th before his Kawasaki started to seriously overheat. After quick work by his team technichans,Gert was soon back on track, eventually finishing in 12th spot.

Following that moto one dissapointment,Krestinov quickly passed Elderfield before blasting to a superb victory in the second Pro MX1 clash, finishing nearly 29 seconds ahead of Noble with LaMay in 3rd,Elderfield 4th,Dorren Coutts 5th and Jamie Lewis 6th.With the track at its roughest,Anderson had got up to 5th place before crashing out at the bottom of the main Hawkstone downhill section, retiring from proceedings on lap four.So with Anderson out and Krestinov encountering his earlier moto one problems,it was overall victory to Noble, making that long journey from Whitby well worthwhile.

Due to a lengthy delay following an earlier crash in Pro MX2 and time restrictions, there was only three Proppa.com MXY2 Masters races at Hawkstone with the outstanding clash now to be included into the final round programme at Pontrilas. In the Hawkstone action though,James Dunn took the opener before Luke Norris was first past the flag in the remaining two motos.Making his first appearance of the Masters season,Luke Newman scored consistent 3/4/5 placings to earn the final podium step ahead of title contenders Dan Thornhill and Ryan Williams. The Hawkstone results mean that Suzuki Youth GB riders Thornhill and Dunn will now go head to head in a enthralling four stroke v two stroke battle for the Proppa MXY2 Masters title on the weekend of September 4th/5th.At present,Thornhill holds a 12 point lead over Dunn with Williams and Alexander Hussey waiting to pounce should the Suzuki lads slip up.

In what as proved to be a title defining moment,Tom Watts crash on lap four of the opening Kawasaki Masters clash at Hawkstone and it now means that barring disaster his season long rival Zac Stealey will be crowned champion..With Watts unable to compete in the remaining races,Stealey banged in four big, stylish wins, the result being that he now requires just nine points at Pontrilas to bag that lovely 2011 Kawasaki 250F.Joining Zac on the Hawkstone podium was Edward Briscoe and Kawasaki Masters debutant William Orritt. The weekend results also see Briscoe jump above Watts in the title standings.

There was double joy in the Michelin Masters at Hawkstone as both Aaron Lowe and Marc Roe accumulated enough points to confirm their respective MX1 and MX2 titles. In MX1,Lowe got home in style by also earning the overall win being joined on the podium by Sam Kirby and Jamie Simpson. However,Aaron certainly had to work hard for that glory, sharing the weekend moto wins with Darren Fowden, Simpson and Chris Neesam.Over in Michelin MX2,Sam Smith(2),Scott Smith and Ben Mycock recorded the race wins and the ultimate podium places.Top slot was to go to Sam with Ben in 2nd and Scott 3rd.Championship winner Roe had to be content with 4th overall at Hawkstone, producing 3/2/4/4 results.

Having their first rides in the 2010 Masters series,Stephen Wade and Luke Meredith took the top two places in the Amateur MX1 class at Hawkstone. After three races,Meredith was the firm favourite to take home the overall winners prizes by boasting a perfect maximum points score but could then only manage 8th in the final clash of the weekend. With Wade being first past the post in that last moto,he was also to snatch away the victors spoils.Taking the final podium slot was George Purchase leaving series leader Matthew Williamson to settle for 4th.However young Williamson only requires three points to earn the Amateur MX1 crown at Pontrilas, surely it will be another mission accomplished!!.

Whilst Williamson has his title almost in the bag,in direct opposite, nerves will certainly be jangling in the GSP Race Products Amateur MX2 class at Pontrilas as just a narrow eleven points separate leader Daniel Brough and Darren Carter in the race for the title. However at Hawkstone both lads were to be defeated by the very much in-form Aled Bellis. After chasing home Jake Preston in the opener,Bellis then took total control, reeling off three moto wins to thus earn the overall victory.Joining Aled on the podium was Brough and Preston with Carter 4th,Ricky Lethaby 5th and Gregory Fisher 6th.

Earning his fifth overall victory of the Moto-Pro Suspension BW85cc series,Adam Sterry was again in great form at Hawkstone. However,Sterry did not compete at Dean Moor during round two and as a result still finds himself 73 points behind series leader Sam Winterburn.During the latest action,Winterburn finished 4th overall behind Jack Kelly and Ben Howell who were both having their first Masters outings of 2010.Mathematically,Sterry,Murray Clunie and Thomas Davies could all still snatch the title should Winterburn suffer a Pontrilas nightmare!!.

Over in Moto-Pro Suspension SW85cc,just four points separated leader Casey Connelly and Tyron Cleaver going into the Hawkstone event. However its now all change as Connelly’s advantage is now 25 points with Charlie Hamlet jumping above Cleaver and up into 2nd place.Taking the Hawkstone win though was Jay Hague with a very impressive 1/3/1/2 scorecard with Connelly the runner-up and Hamlet earning the final podium step.Cleaver eventually finished 6th overall behind Jack Naylor and Henry Siddiqui.

Completing the bumper Hawkstone action,James Griffiths won the opening three Amateur Non-Quaulifiers races on his way to overall success ahead, with moto victory in the last clash going to Jamie Ashbrook. So its now onto Pontrilas on September 4th/5th,for another great Wulfsport Masters weekend and the conclusion of what as been a truly thrilling 2010 series.

With just two rounds remaining,PAR Honda rider Scott Elderfield could well be the major recipient of the super Wulfsport British Masters prize fund on offer as he now tops both the Pro MX1 and MX2 classes following the latest exciting action at Landrake Moto Parc.Previously holding 2nd spot in the MX1 class,Scott recorded a 3rd /4th placing to now move 69 points clear at the top,in the process overhauling his closest rival Gordon Crockard who was a surprise non-starter.In MX2, Scott was already the leader but with both James Dodd and Martin Barr suffering injury at Landrake, the PAR Honda pilot now has a massive 172 points advantage.Pro class overall victories on Sunday went to Buildbase CCM rider Stephen Sword and Maxxis Henderson L.P.E Kawasaki’s Kristian Whatley in the respective MX1 and MX2 .Also having a great weekend was Moto-Pro Suspension BW85cc rider Adam Sterry who went through the card unbeaten.

Following a bright, sunny opening day contested on a dust free, professionally prepared circuit, riders on Sunday were then greeted by overcast conditions which quickly turned to steady drizzle, thus making track conditions slippery in places and visibility extremely difficult.!!.Undeterred, the Pro MX2 boys though served up a classic moto one.Kristian Whatley quickly took control but was soon under intense pressure from the PAR team of Brad Anderson,Scott Elderfield and Martin Barr with Alan Keet, making his 2010 Masters debut,Shane Careless and Matthew Moffat in hot pursuit.Eventually after five hot laps,Anderson found a way through but Whatley then superbly held off Elderfield and Barr for the remainder of the contest for a hard earned 2nd.Unfortunately in the closing stages,Barr was struck on the shoulder by a large stone, forcing him out for the remainder of the meeting.

There was drama on lap one of moto two as James Dodd suffered a heavy crash, requiring medical attention.Upfront, Anderson had made a stunning start to lead the way whilst Whatley slipped off dropping back to 5th behind Keet,Josh Spinks and Elderfield.Well in control and building a massive advantage at the front,Anderson’s hopes of another victory were then dashed as his Honda engine seized on lap six.Moving through it was Elderfield who now looked the likely winner although Whatley had recovered from his earlier spill to move menacingly up into 2nd with Careless again charging hard in 3rd.In a frantic conclusion,Whatley then dived inside Elderfield to earn the win whilst AMCA riders Jack Taylor and Lee Dunham both finished inside the top ten in respective 6th and 9th positions.

With drizzle now falling heavily, most of the riders in the opening Wulfsport Pro MX1 contest bravely threw away their goggles as they chased the big cash prizes on offer. It was Stephen Sword who led the opening five laps ahead of Ben LaMay,Anderson,Elderfield and Stuart Edmonds. However Anderson was in a very determined mood at Landrake, taking control for the win some six seconds ahead of Sword with Elderfield 3rd.After gating in 10th,Whatley moved up to pass LaMay for 4th.

Swordy grabbed the Pro MX1 moto two holeshot, but it was that man Anderson who took control by the completion of the opening lap.Swordy though stayed in close company before stylishly swooping back into the lead on lap four and from here onwards he dictated proceedings to earn the win.Holding 3rd spot from gate to flag was LaMay with Elderfield 4th,Edmonds 5th,Whatley 6th and Ryan Blizzard 7th.After being in 18th spot on lap one,John May made a great recovery in this moto to get home in 8th.

In the super race to win the lease of a brand new 2011 250F and clothing,Dan Thornhill continues to lead the Proppa.com MXY2 contest. However he is now coming under pressure from his Suzuki GB Youth team mate James Dunn who has slotted into 2nd spot in the title chase. At Landrake,Thornhill was on the podium with another very consistent performance and 3/3/2/7 scorecard, enough for 3rd overall behind winner Dunn and runner-up Luke Norris.Throughout the weekend,Dunn blasted his two-stroke Suzuki to three out of four moto wins, with Glenn Fletcher taking the opening victory of the Landrake Masters action.Indeed but for a heavy downhill crash in moto three,Glenn would have amassed enough points to invade the podium party.

As already mentioned,Moto-Pro Suspension BW85cc rider Adam Sterry was the only unbeaten rider of the weekend. With a superb performance,Sterry bagged maximum Masters points to overhaul both Thomas Davies and Adam Darbyshire and thus move up into 3rd in the title standings.Landrake also proved to be very productive for series leader Sam Winterburn. Not only did he take 2nd overall on the weekend, but he has also increased his Masters lead to 80 points with Darbyshire a non-starter and Murray Clunie suffering a moto one DNF.Having his best score so far in this Masters class was Curtis Blamey who took 3rd overall.Over in Moto-Pro Suspension SW85cc,leader Casey Connelly failed to top the podium for the first time in this current Masters series. With a no-score in moto three, young Casey was restricted to 9th overall.Victory on Landrake weekend went to David Keet, having his first Masters outing of 2010 ahead of Jay Hague and Tyron Cleaver.Cleaver’s podium spot means that he has reduced Connelly’s advantage to just 4 points,so it’s battle on at Hawkstone and Pontrilas!!.

At long last the dominance of Zac Stealey and Tom Watts in the Kawasaki Masters class as been broken. In a very dramatic Landrake opener, incredibly both Watts and 3rd placed Daniel Hill suffered blown engines.Taking maximum advantage of his rivals misfortune and earning yet another moto win was of course that man Stealey. However undettered,Watts displayed great character to then bounce back in style with three hard earned race victories of his own.Due to that moto one incident,it meant that Edward Briscoe and Dave Anthony deservedly shared the Landrake podium with Stealey whilst Bradley Lofthouse and Patrick Collins also finished ahead of Watts in the overall standings. So it’s advantage Stealey with eight races still remaining in a quality chase to win the lease of a super, green, shiny 2011 Kawasaki 250F.

It’s all change at the top of the Michelin Masters MX1,as Aaron Lowe has turned a 21 point deficit into a massive 167 point advantage over Shaun Scrivens. With Scrivens a non-starter at Landrake,Lowe set the fastest qualification time before also winning two moto’s,the other victories going to Jamie Wilson and Darren Fowden. In Michelin MX2, Marc Roe now holds a massive 225 point lead at the top of the table and with just eight moto’s remaining has handed himself a superb opportunity to claim his first Masters crown. At Landrake,Roe won the first three races before Tom Davies took the final moto victory, enough for 2nd overall ahead of Nathan Buckland. In the Championship standings,Tom Drabble has now moved up into 2nd ahead of early series pacesetter Scott Smith.

With nearest rival George Walton only scoring points in the opening race of the weekend,Matthew Williamson took full advantage to open up a 183 point advantage at the top of the Amateur MX1 class.Williamson had to settle for 3rd overall on the Landrake podium though as Hayden Wilkinson and Michael Reynolds took the top two slots. Wilkinson(2), Reynolds and a delighted George Purchase picked up the moto wins in this group. In GSP Race Products Amateur MX2,Darren Carter and Daniel Brough continue to dominate. In the opening three races at Landrake, they filled the top two positions with Brough twice the victor. However in the final clash of the weekend,Tom Neesam was first past the post followed by Bradley Wakefield with Brough in 3rd,Daniel Chapman 4th and Carter 5th.The Landrake results also produced a change in the Championship standings as both Richard McDermott and Aled Bellis overhauled 3rd placed Ricky Lethaby.

WULFSPORT MASTERS (ROUND 5) AT LANDRAKE ON JULY 3RD/4TH PREVIEW BY MIKE WOOD

Following the fabulous Foxhills Wulfsport Masters round, its time for the series to reconvene again on the weekend of July 3rd/4th as Ken Winstanley and his enthusiastic band of helpers set up camp right down in the South West at Landrake. With just three more rounds remaining, the riders present will be hoping to get their hands on part of the big cash funds on offer as well as holeshot awards from Charge Clothing and some lovely prizes again supplied by Muk Junkie.

In a simply thrilling Wulfsport Pro MX1 class,Martin Barr and Stephen Sword scored the moto wins at Foxhills but its still Gordon Crockard who’s leading the series.Crockard’s efforts at the Wiltshire venue were matched though by his closest rival for the title at present,Scott Elderfield, and just 10 points still separates the two determined riders. After crashing in practice at Foxhills,American youngster Ben LaMay picked himself up to record a strong 2/2 scorecard, enough to also earn the overall runners-up spot on the day.Despite not competing during the opening round of the series at Mallory,LaMay is currently holding 3rd place in the Wulfsport Masters Pro MX1 series ahead of Barr,James Noble,Jamie Lewis,Nathan Parker,Wayne Garrett,Jamie Skuse and John May.

Wulfsport Pro MX2 series leader Elderfield and Barr took one moto win each during the Foxhills contest. But with Barr also crashing on the first turn of moto one and recording a DNF,it as seen the very consistent Elderfield open up a massive 111 points lead over 2nd placed James Dodd at the top of the Masters table with Barr in 3rd and a further 18 points in arrears. However don’t forget that Barr did not contest the opening round at Mallory Park and in the three remaining rounds is sure to bag some serious points as he first attempts to overhaul Dodd.Matthew Moffat, Luke Mellows,Brad Anderson,Neville Bradshaw,Lee Dunham,Richard Bird and Christian Taylor complete the top ten at present.Anderson in 6th and Bradshaw 7th are both inside that top ten despite both missing two rounds each whilst leading AMCA rider Dunham will be pleased with his current 8th spot after missing the Foxhills meeting due to IMBA MX2 European Championship commitments.

In the Proppa.com MXY2 series,Dan Thornhill,Ryan Williams and Alexander Hussey have proved the importance of consistency in a motocross championship season as they currently fill the top three Masters positions despite not boasting a single moto win between them so far.Early series leader Hussey was overhauled in the Masters table at Foxhills by both Thornhill and Williams who shared the podium with winner and very much in-form Luke Norris. After not competing during the opening two rounds,Norris has since won seven of the last eight motos and sits in 9th spot in the Championship behind James Dunn,Damon Wales,Jack Timms,Andrew Smart and Glenn Fletcher.

Just 35 points currently separate the top three of Sam Winterburn,Adam Darbyshire and Murray Clunie in the Moto-Pro Suspension BW85cc class,so with a possible maximum of 200 points available per round, this contest looks at present set to go right down to the final round at Pontrilas.Having finished top of the podium in all four rounds of the Moto-Pro Suspension SW85cc contest,Casey Connelly also naturally sits proudly at the top of the Masters series table. After grabbing podium places in the last three events,Tyron Cleaver is Connelly’s closest rival some 55 points in arrears with Charlie Hamlet,Henry Siddiqui,Jack Naylor and Lewis Wigger currently rounding off the top six.

Who can break the dominance of Zac Stealey and Tom Watts in the Kawasaki Masters class?.On only one occasion have they failed to fill the top two moto placings, what an incredible record!!.At Foxhills,Watts was the boss with four more impressive wins.Third overall during round four was Daniel Hill,a position he also currently holds in the Masters table ahead of the chasing Edward Briscoe,Ryan Blee,Ryan Pottenger,Lee Clarkson,John Robson,Patrick Collins and Ash Newton.

Having took overall victory in three out of four rounds,Shaun Scrivens currently leads the Michelin MX1 contest some 21 points ahead of Aaron Lowe.At present these two lads appear to be dominant and in control of their eventual Masters destiny as 3rd placed rider Ian Taylor is another 158 points in arrears.Over in Michelin MX2,series leader Scott Smith painfully crashed out during qualification at Foxhills and as a result has slipped down to 3rd in the Masters table.New Michelin MX2 pacesetter is Marc Roe who also topped the Foxhills podium ahead of Adam Savage and Nathan Buckland.

After only scoring points in his opening ride at Foxhills,Scott Beevers has now dropped down to 4th in the Amateur MX1 Masters behind Matthew Williamson,George Walton and Micheal Smith. So far,Lancashire youngster Williamson has picked up three out of four podium finishes and leads the series by 42 points. In GSP Race Products Amateur MX2,another big battle for the title is developing between two very consistent riders.Darren Carter the current leader has been on the podium in all four rounds whilst Daniel Brough has missed out on just one occasion.Carter’s advantage at present is 26 points with Rick Lethaby in 3rd.

So that’s it then it’s time to go racing , why not sample for yourself a piece of the motocross adrenalin rush generated by the super Wulfsport British Masters series, your’e sure to be impressed!!.The Landrake Moto Parc, postcode PL12 5EP,should be signposted off the A38.

Following three thrilling rounds of the 2010 Wulfsport British Masters, the series hits the midway point on the weekend of June 5th/6th with a visit to the famous Foxhill Moto Parc, near Swindon,Wiltshire. With then just a further three rounds to come, the battle heat will certainly intensify as riders approach the business end of the season, chasing their share of what is one of the largest overall MX prize funds in Europe.

In Pro MX1,Scott Elderfield had led proceedings before being overhauled at Whitby by Gordon Crockard.Although Crockard’s advantage is just a current ten points, his series lead as been built on very impressive consistency in what as proved to be an ultra-competitive,spectacular class.Already in Pro MX1,Crockard(2),Elderfield,Brad Anderson,Martin Barr and Ben LaMay have recorded moto wins.Expect the rivalry to continue at Foxhill with Jamie Lewis,James Noble, Wayne Garrett,Nathan Parker,Kevin Wells and John May also in the mix and looking to improve their current standings within the top ten.

Although Elderfield has lost his Pro MX1 lead,he still dictates proceedings in the Pro MX2 series, holding an 80 point advantage over current second place rider James Dodd.Dodd though is under intense pressure to maintain his placing from the hard charging Barr,Anderson,Luke Mellows and top AMCA rider Lee Dunham.Unfortunately, though Dunham will be absent from Foxhills as he is away on IMBA European Championship duty in France.Despite not competing in round one at Mallory Park,Barr is definitely the in-form rider in MX2 and after winning both races at Whitby,he will certainly be the rider to beat at Foxhill.

The Proppa.com MXY2 clashes continue to thrill, and in the race to win a 2011 250F bike and race gear,it’s still the ultra consistent Alexander Hussey who leads the way although he is just a very narrow two points ahead of Dan Thornhill.Proving just what quality and strength in depth this class possesses,so far James Dunn(4),Christian Taylor(3), Luke Norris(3),Luke Dean and Damon Wales have picked up the moto wins.At present less than 35 points separates the top four of Hussey,Thornhill,Ryan Williams and Dunn. But with another 200 points up for grabs, expect Foxhill to produce yet more great action.

In the Moto-Pro Suspension Mini Masters, just 29 points separates the current BW85cc top three of Sam Winterburn,Adam Darbyshire and Murray Clunie.Over in SW85cc,Casey Connelly holds a 45 point advantage over Tyron Cleaver with Charlie Hamlet just a further 6 points behind in 3rd.

Zac Stealey and Tom Watts are currently dominating the Kawasaki Masters class, battling for the right to pick up a brand new 2011 Kawasaki 250F and spares budget.Indeed they have shared all twelve moto wins with Stealey currently leading that contest by a 8-4 score count.Holding third in the series at present is Daniel Hill.

With Jamie Dobson, the early leader of the Amateur MX1 class, crashing out at Whitby,Scott Beevers has now took control although he is just three points ahead of young Matthew Williamson.Williamson is currently in fine form and will be determined to take control of proceedings at Foxhill.Expect George Walton and Michael Smith to also be well in contention in this group.

In the GSP Race Products Amateur MX2 class,Darren Carter has moved to the top of the series standings after overhauling early leader Daniel Brough who was restricted to a 6th overall finish at Whitby. However with Carter’s advantage at the top just 21 points,Brough will be looking to bounce back in style at Foxhill and expect Richard McDermott,Aled Bellis and Rick Lethaby to all be well in contention.

Shaun Scrivens leads the Michelin Masters MX1 class,20 points ahead of Aaron Lowe with Christopher Rose sitting in 3rd.In Michelin Masters MX2,despite suffering his first defeat of the Masters series at Whitby,Scott Smith still heads the table with Marc Roe in 2nd,Jack Jones 3rd and Scott’s brother Sam in 4th.

Throw in the ingredients of an awesome, spectacular motocross track with panoramic views of the Whitby coastline, add a big sprinkling of the countries top riders all chasing one of the largest MX prize funds in Europe and the end result is another fantastic Wulfsport British Masters event. For round three of the series in which riders of all abilities are just desperate to be involved in,over 350 competitors travelled to Skelder Bank,North Yorkshire.Whilst PAR Honda rider Martin Barr took top honours in both the Wulfsport Pro MX1 and MX2 classes, the other outstanding performances of the weekend came from Kawasaki Masters series leader Zac Stealey and Amateur Non-Qualifiers winner Jamie Ashbrook who both produced a perfect four out of four moto victories in their respective classes.

Already in the opening two rounds of the series, the Pro MX classes have wowed the watching crowd with an abundance of top quality racing, and on the technical Skelder Bank circuit that reputation was certainly maintained. In Pro MX1 race one,Stuart Edmonds led the early exchanges before being pushed back by an hard charging five rider train consisting of Scott Elderfield, Kristian Whatley, Brad Anderson, Ben LaMay and Martin Barr.Such was the pace of the PAR Honda boy’s though that the five quickly then became a three way battle until Elderfield and Anderson then endured a serious coming together!!.On the exit from a fast flowing corner, both riders were on the gas, only to meet at the same intersection point and thus crashing.Although quickly remounting, they could only watch as a surprised Barr moved through to take control followed by Whatley.Still racing wheel to wheel for the remainder of the contest, it was to be Elderfield who was to eventually get that 3rd spot though .After starting in 13th, Gordon Crockard got back to 5th just ahead of a great Proppa.com Honda battle between Nathan Parker and James Noble.Local favourite Noble had made a great recovery in this moto, moving from 27th back to 7th whilst Jamie Skuse, LaMay and Ray Rowson rounded off the top ten.

In second Pro MX1 clash, Noble got off to a far stronger start but it was LaMay who led from gate to flag.On lap seven, Noble passed Barr for an eventual runners-up spot.Crockard also further relegated Barr to take 3rd after initially gating 11th.The points gained at Skelder Bank now promotes the ‘Crockstar’ to the top of the Wulfsport Pro MX1 standings.Following their moto one collision, Anderson and Elderfield again had to work hard for their points in this clash.Anderson moving from 28th back to 8th whilst Elderfield went from 31st up to 11th.

Within one lap of the opening Wulfsport Pro MX2 clash at Whitby, Barr had passed Elderfield and there he remained all the way to the flag. After that frantic opening lap, Bryan MacKenzie had also squeezed past Whatley and up into 3rd.Taking 5th in this clash was David Goosen whilst Anderson moved from 11th to earn 6th, Ray Rowson was 7th, Matthew Moffat 8th, Stuart Edmonds 9th and Jamie Smith 10th.

In Pro MX2 moto two, Barr made another stunning start to lead Whatley, young Sunny Thompson, Elderfield and AMCA star Lee Dunham whilst fellow AMCA racer Jack Taylor was also inside the early top ten until stalling then one corner later being t-boned by a fellow competitor.Dunham though was to uphold the AMCA honour with a very impressive performance, getting home in 8th.Once again though, Barr was to take the win with another stylish ride as Elderfield passed Whatley for 2nd spot on lap nine.Working hard for his prize money in this moto, Anderson went from 13th up to 4th, finishing just ahead of MacKenzie, Wayne Smith and Moffat. After originally holding an early top ten position, Sonny Thompson was to retire on lap seven.

Making his first appearance of the season in the Proppa.com MXY2 Masters, Luke Norris won three out of the four Whitby motos. The only moto in which he failed to be first past the post was race two on Saturday when Christian Taylor took the victory from James Dunn,Ryan Williams,Dan Thornhill and Andrew Smart with Norris in 6th spot.Whilst Norris was the star at Whitby, the ride of the weekend though surely belonged to eventual runner-up Dunn. After falling on the first turn in moto two, Dunn then blasted from last all the way to 2nd, a truly great effort!!.Taking 3rd overall on the weekend was Dunn’s Suzuki GB teamate Dan Thornhill with Ryan Williams 4th, Damon Wales 5th and Alexander Hussey 6th.It is though the super consistent Hussey who still leads the chase for the 2011 250F machine and race gear, just a slender two points ahead of Thornhill another rider who very rarely fails to finish outside the top six places during each moto.

As the saying goes, ‘a championship is decided over the season and not just one round’.Well that maybe true but, current Moto-Pro Suspension BW85cc leader Sam Winterburn may have produced the one defining performance in his particular title quest during the final Whitby moto.Falling in lap one, Sam was a distant last before blasting back to 7th and thus earn himself 37 very vital points.Throughout the weekend, Winterburn was also the only rider to defeat the very impressive overall winner Adam Sterry. In winning three out of four motos, Sterry topped the podium ahead of Adam Darbyshire and Thomas Davies.

In the SW85cc contest, Casey Connelly(2), Gradie Featherstone and Tyron Cleaver all enjoyed the honour of being the first rider home in each clash. In the overall placings at Whitby, the current Championship top three of Connelly, Cleaver and Charlie Hamlet also filled the podium places.

As previously mentioned, Kawasaki Masters top honours went to current championship leader Zac Stealey who reeled off four brilliant moto wins.On all four occasions, Tom Watts chased him home and these two lads are now beginning to seriously stamp their authority on this class with Stealey 20 points ahead of Watts and a massive 119 points clear of Daniel Hill in 3rd.Hill had to settle for 4th overall at Whitby behind Edward Briscoe. After being in Championship contention, Luke Spence crashed out in moto one and was unable to compete in the remainder of the meeting whilst Ryan Pottenger suffered an indifferent weekend, picking up a 3/24/0/3 scorecard.

Having his first Masters outing of the season, expierenced AMCA Championship campaigner Aaron Crowder took the overall Amateur MX1 win at Whitby. On day one, Crowder chased home Alistair Clarke with Matthew Williamson and Richard Collins in close company. After then starting with a 4th place in Sunday’s opener, Clarke was well on course for a podium placing until disappearing from proceedings on lap three of the final moto.Winning both of Sunday’s thrilling clashes was Crowder despite the close attention of young Williamson who was to take 2nd overall with Collins in 3rd.Championship leader Scott Beevers took 7th overall at Whitby and is now just three points ahead of Williamson.Early pacesetter in this class, Jamie Dobson unfortunately crashed out in the opening moto of the weekend.

In the GSP Race Products Amateur MX2 class, Daniel Brough has been overhauled at the top of the Championship standings by Darren Carter. With Brough 6th overall at Whitby, Carter took the win with a 1/2/8/1 scorecard.Brough did gain some reward though by taking the moto two win on Saturday, the other race victor over the weekend being Ricky Lethaby.Indeed,Lethaby went onto also earn the overall runners-up slot with Stuart Holsten 3rd, Richard McDermott 4th and Aled Bellis 5th.

Overall winner of Michelin Masters MX1 William Foster would have gone home with a perfect maximum points haul but for a fall in moto three.Taking that tumble enabled current series leader Shaun Scrivens to be first past the winning post on that particular occasion. However on the day, Scrivens had to settle for 4th overall behind Foster,Aaron Lowe and Jamie Wilson.Over in Michelin Masters MX2,series leader Scott Smith incredibly suffered his first defeat of the Championship so far, and guess what?, the victor was to be his brother Sam.Making it though another super Masters for the Smith family, Scott took the overall win from Sam in 2nd, Marc Roe 3rd, Jack Jones 4th, Adam Savage 5th and Tom Smith 6th.

Making up for the disappointment of not making the cut in the main Amateur races, Jamie Ashbrook won all four Non-Qualifiers clashes to earn the overall ahead of Thomas Card and Matthew Perkins.Well done Jamie, another great performance in what is an outstanding motocross series!!,next stop the famous Foxhill Moto Parc on June 5th/6th.

Following the excitement of the opening round of the Wulfsport British Masters round at Mallory Park, surely it could not get any better could it ?.You bet it could!!,as the racing at Dean Moor,Cumbria was red-hot in all groups, the weather was fine and the organisers completed a slick programme including keeping their promise to restage the three postponed motos from Mallory.Although one of the stars of round one,Zach Osborne was away on GP duty,in compensation and added to the mix at Dean Moor on the weekend was the likes of Brad Anderson,James Noble,Martin Barr,Nathan Parker,Neville Bradshaw and even North American teenage star Ben LaMay,all chasing one of the biggest MX prize funds in Europe, also helping to ensure that this was to be another super Wulfsport Masters weekend.

Opening the Wulfsport Pro action at Dean Moor was the MX1 class and it was youngster LaMay who made a stunning start to thus lead the way ahead of Gordon Crockard,Alex Snow,Scott Elderfield,Brad Anderson,Jamie Lewis,Martin Barr,James Noble,Neville Bradshaw and Nathan Parker. At the front,LaMay was setting a super pace, pulling well clear of the pack with only Crockard in tow and chasing hard.Using his vast experience to the full, the Crockstar then eventually reeled LaMay in and timing his challenge to perfection crucially made his pass with just one lap remaining to snatch the win. After gating in 7th,Barr moved up to 3rd at the flag with Elderfield in 4th.Earlier in the moto,Scott had collided with Anderson, the latter losing some of his front wheel spokes in the process and being forced to eventually retire on lap nine.

In MX1 moto two,LaMay was again quickest away with Anderson,Elderfield,Noble,Snow,Lewis,John May,Alex Rach,Bradshaw and James Lassu giving chase.Following his opening race disapointment,Anderson was in determined mood on this occasion passing LaMay and taking control of proceedings on lap three. As the moto quickly settled down,Noble slotted into 3rd spot with Elderfield 4th.However the main movers in this clash were to be Bradshaw,Crockard and Barr.Coming from almost last spot on lap one,Barr was storming through the pack, eventually getting back to 8th spot at the flag.First race winner Crockard was equally impressive in charging from an early 19th back to 6th whilst Bradshaw went from 10th up to 5th.Although Anderson eventually took the win some 15 seconds ahead of LaMay,his first moto DNF meant that the overall win went instead to the very impressive North American with Crockard and Elderfield earning the other big money placings in this class. In the restaging of the postponed Pro MX1 Mallory race which was only open to riders who had entered the original staging,Elderfield led the opening two laps before Crockard took control to earn the win.

If the Wulfsport Pro MX2 battles at Mallory between Zach Osborne and Scott Elderfield were good, the opening clash at Dean Moor was simply stunning!!.For seven laps of moto one,Anderson led the way under severe pressure from Barr.Crucially then on lap eight,Anderson slipped off letting Barr in and although the former quickly remounted in 2nd spot, his chances of claiming the win appeared over.Undeterred,Anderson quickly regained his rhythm and by very cleverly using backmarker traffic in the closing stages of the contest he swooped past a stunned Barr to snatch the moto victory.Bradshaw was to earn 3rd in this opener some 23 seconds behind Barr with Elderfield moving from 7th up to 4th ahead of Shane Carless,Matthew Moffat,James Lassu,AMCA youngster Jack Taylor,Wayne Smith and James Dodd.

Anderson and Barr were at it again in the second Pro MX2 clash of the day, producing another super motocross battle. For the opening seven laps, they thrilled the crowd until Barr unfortunately stalled his PAR Honda.Unable to quickly restart,Barr lost his hard-fought second placing to Bradshaw.Starting in 3rd spot,Elderfield temporarily dropped back to 6th before recovering for 4th at the flag ahead of Wayne Smith,Luke Mellows,Matthew Moffat, James Dodd,Richard Bird and Sunny Thompson.Of the AMCA racers,Lee Dunham gated in 7th before eventually finishing 11th whilst Carl Benjamin was 14th.After finishing a super 8th in the opening race,Jack Taylor was forced out of this clash with badly blistered hands. REPORT CONTINUED BELOW IN FEATURED ARTICLES
